New Jersey week on the Magic?

Who else is taking advantage of schools being closed for the NJ teacher's convention (Nov. 5 and Nov. 6). We are leaving after school Friday October 29 to spend the next seven days on the Magic. And the children will only miss three days of school.

Anyone else? Is there going to be a large NJ contingent on the ship?

We're taking advantage of Jersey week as well, but we will be visiting my mom in Florida for the week. Our DD only has 1 and 1/2 days of school that week, it's a great week to get away!!!

Have a MAGICal cruise!!!

We are taking that and then some. Our kids have off Nov 1-5 Plus Oct 27 so we are leaving the 27th doing Disney first then doing DCL.

Where in Central Jersey do you live? We also live in Central Jersey (South Brunswick to be exact) and only get the 2 days off for the convention. We do have half days the rest of the week, and I'm being bad by going on the Western leaving on 11/6, instead on the Eastern 10/30. We were actually booked on the Eastern, but switched to the Western after our trip to St. John last year. We didn't want to visit St. Thomas again, and not being able to get to St. John for more than a few hours would be depressing. Keep the ship in good shape for me!!!!

We are also from Central Jersey, Bridgewater. We will be on the Magic on 10/30. Then we are adding on a few days at WDW. Because of the convention and a teacher "in service" day, the kids will only be missing 4 days of school for an eleven day vacation.

Jel...We did this 2 years ago. We went to Disney the week of Teacher's convention then on the cruise he week after so we could do the Western.Last year we did the Eastern. I would prefer do the Western again but sine we had the week off thisyear(only happens for presidential elections) we decided to do this again.

Hey Hey Hey! We'll be on the Magic that week too! We didn't even plan it that way . We just found out today that DD is out of school those days! How's that for accidental planning? We were going to keep her home on election day anyway, since they don't have well thought out security at our school for having all the voters there at the same time as the kids.

Old Bridge here, we're leaving on the 29th to drive down for the 10/31 4 night Wonder cruise. Then we'll be staying for a few more days at DW. Everyone enjoy!

Washington Twp, Gloucester County here, and we are on the cruise with most of you. Our school is out Tues-Fri. The kids are only missing 1 day, which is good. I have one in high school and 2 in middle school. Name me another time that we can go away and the kids don't miss much school, and the place isn't crowded.

Scott we're from N.J. also and making the cruise during teachers convention week. There also 8 to 10 other families we're friendly with making the cruise that week. Our kids are very excited, it should be a great week. We could probably have a N.J. party.

Add us to the list, South Jersey, not far from mhb. Around here you can find less people not heading to Florida for that week. It seems every other house in my development is going to WDW, tricker treating isn't going to be good around here!

This is our 4th NJ week to head to Florida. The first year we went to WDW and laughed because when we went to shows and they picked a volunteer they were always from NJ. The kids even ran into some of their friends in the parks.

This will be our 3rd NJ week cruise. We become the butt of jokes because the comedians are well aware of us taking over the ship. It's like old home week and for a week I don't talk funny.

Cape May here. We wanted to go on the Western so we are going the week after Jersey week 11/06. We went to WDW last year during Jersey week. All the CM's stopped asking where are you from and began asking what part of New Jersey are you from. Here's hoping for good weather for us all.

We went to Vero Beach two years ago during Jersey week, while we were checking in, we were asked if New Jersey was being evacuated, then I asked, no why. Then I was told that 95% of the bookings that week were people from New Jersey!!! Gotta love Jersey Week!!!

What is the website that lists the NJ Teacher's Convention dates for future years? I'm looking to travel in 2007 (I know, really far in the future) and want to make sure my kids miss as little as possible.

Here is a link to the future dates, 2007 isn't posted yet. My guess, since it has ALWAYS been during Election Week is that for 2007 the dates will be November 8 and 9.
