Saw this in the Allears newsletter....Could the Discovery Islang/Treasure Island be making a Comeback!!!!!

I received an email from Walt Disney World asking me if I would participate in a survey. When I clicked on the link, the survey was about character meals. They asked a few general questions, but the survey specifically focused on a Captain Jack Sparrow character meal. The description of the meal was: "Board a pirate vessel from a resort and sail to Pirate's Cove, where Captain Jack Sparrow and his band of bandits have cooked up a beach barbecue. Salty songs, tall tales, delicious food, and a hunt for the fabulous Tortuga Treasure spice up this fun-filled evening under the stars. Guests are given a clue-filled treasure map, and friendly competition is held to find the priceless prize." They proposed an adult price of $49 (sorry, I don't remember the kids' price). On a scale of 1-10, 1 being not interested in the least and 10 being enthusiastically interested, I ranked this as a 10. I would have ranked it 11 if I could.

I haven't heard of it....but somehow interested................ pirate:

I think there was a thread on this a couple of weeks ago.

I can imagine it being VERY popular - I'd certainly love to take my family to it!!

Shoot, I'd have rated that a 12 if I had had the chance!! How incredibly cool!!

I really really hope they decide to do that!!

i think it's not a good idea. It shallows the character. Jack sparrow would not throw a barbecue for people.

This will be huge for next few years, at least.

Man, I'm gonna HATE dropping 200 bones on a breakfast.

Is this going to become the "new" must-have PS, surpassing CRT? :cool1: I would love to see Discovery Island being used again and this sounds like the Imagineers are really working hard. Sounds totally exciting. ::yes:: :hyper: ::yes::

I think it sounds awesome! My little brother who is 10 would love this, and my Fiance who is 36 would too...lol.

I recieved a similar survey invite, the one i did asked the same questions but it didnt go into specifics about the jack sparrow meal, it only asked if i would be interested in a pirate dinner with captain jack and his mates, of course I ranked it a 10 :thumbsup2

I just read about it this morning. I hope they go thru with it. It would be nice to have something with more a "boy" theme and yet the whole family can enjoy. It would definately be a must on our next trip if they have it.

Well, he sure would for ME! Best of all -- you just know there will be plenty of rum! pirate:

After that 'incident' on the island with Elizabeth, you just know Jack Sparrow -- I'm terribly sorry, I mean Captain Jack Sparrow -- will make sure that there's ALWAYS enough rum!

Woohoo - I hope they do this!! Another expensive extra, but what the heck - finally something for boys!!! :thumbsup2 pirate:
