New Iphone Disneyland application

Sounds like a great app. As soon as I can get an iPhone without having to sign up with the evil empire of AT&T, I will.

My two youngest were playing with it last night and can't wait to get to the park to see if it really works. They liked the menu's the most. Now for DCA.

now that ive had time to play with it this is a cool app.. the wait time works when people in the parks report back thier times so the more people use it the better it will become. The developers should make friends with someone who works in the coke a cola shop and have them pop over to the wait times a few times a day lol...at least until more people dl it.. this one is much better than that upinit application so beware and make sure you get the correct one.

really good app. i was there today and the interactive map was a life saver. it was great to use, especially for someone who hasn't gone for years.

downside...its $2.99.

Just an FYI, it doesn't work on the Ipod touch. I LOVE my touch, and have some of the other Disney apps, but this one it won't load (even though it did let me buy it!) . Everytime I sync I get a message that it's not compatible with the Touch, only the Iphone. :confused3 If you have a touch, don't waste your money. :sad2:

I got the message when I tried to buy it on my TOuch that it is only for Iphone. And now that I think about it, it makes sense...Touch can only connect to the internet and GPS while on a Wifi network...so that wouldn't work unless the whole park was on a network (which would be FANTASTIC!)

Anyway, I got the .99 version with the maps and I guess that will have to do. I got one for DCA and DL.

I'm going today, I'll let you guys know how that works for me!

They were at one point developing something like this for the Nintendo DS. In fact, they had where you could use it at WDW. But it must have fallen through because I've heard nothing about it in quite some time now.

Well my Iphone came in the mail today, and the 1st thing I tried to do was buy this app, but of course I can't get it, because I'm australian, and you can only buy it from a US account... :sad2: I hate that...

Oh so that is why I didn't have any luck last night when I kept trying to download it.

Yay! I got it to download! Czardas - the way to do it is download it through itunes, that way you're in the Ausralian store, and it should go through!

Yeah I didnt want to give up so I downloaded straight from the app store on my phone. Discovered my old credit card was still registered with itunes, hence why it kept rejecting last night. Gotta love this phone

I got it. The best part will be the interactive wait times.
Yes, I'd like to hear more about that. Does DL have their wait time board on the Internet? How could this app get that info otherwise?

The way the wait times thing works, is that when iphone users go to an attraction, they enter in the current wait time they see on the app. The average wait time people enter for a specific period will show up on your app.

The more people use the application and use this function, the more the wait times will be actually current and show up. DL doesn't have any wait times on the internet. It's all done by user participation.

OT to Czardas and BecBennett.

How do you plan on using your iPhones in the states? I am looking at getting one, and would love to use it over there, but am not sure how it will use the internet. I don't want to have to pay for roaming.

From what I've seen on the boards, Disney doesn't have many/any wifi points?

Thanks...

I'm interested to hear more about how useful this app is once someone is actually in the parks...

My fear is that I would be glued to it the whole time while the world passes me by!

i think you got the one by the company called upin it... it's not the same app as the one we are talking about unless they changed the price.

and to me 2.99 is cheap.. but i guess that is me..

So I've been playing around with this app, and it's pretty cool. The only concern I have is the wait times. Not quite sure how accurate they are. Yesterday it was reporting that Nemo was a 5 minute wait, and Star Tours was about 2 hours...huh? I'm thinking as more people start using this app, it will become better...hope so anyway. In the meantime I will continue to just live vicariously through my Iphone until my next DL visit.
