OK so I'm obsessive - I priced out my room only, tix, dining, extras, etc...then called Disney to find out if my ala carte package is better/worse than a MYW package. Turns out my AAA room only rate, tix and pay for dining OOP is BETTER than a MYW package. That's just my considering all my family's variables.

Anyway, now for the info. While on the phone, the very nice CM told me that starting today they were allowed to book a room and dining package and you did NOT have to purchase a base 1 day ticket like you did in the past. He offered me a price on room/dining and/or room/tix/dining. Thought I'd pass on the info for those that don't need tix.

This has been confirmed for the AP room only discounts. But I don't think there is anything showing up for Rack Rate or for other discounts.

Disney's website still shows you needing to purchase tickets for a package with dining but then again the website usually isn't as current as it should be :)

Given that the Dining Plan is no longer a significant discount, this change makes sense.

I agree that the website isn't current as it should be. I bought and have received my May 31st Pirate and Princess Party tickets and the site doesn't even show the P&PP taking place on 5/31/08.

Can anyone confirm this? I e-mailed them about this and received the response I expected within the last week -- no you can't do this... I'm doing a split stay so I'd really like to be able to add dining to another leg of my visit w/o buying a base ticket!

Just curious since I'm new to all this - can you book a AAA room rate through Disney directly?

Thanks!

My understanding is that...

AP holders may add the DDP to their room reservation without having to purchase an additional, MYW ticket. This exemption from needing to book a MYW package with ticket(s) applies only to Annual Passholders--it does not apply to everyone.

If you are not an AP holder, then you still need to purchase a MYW ticket with each separate reservation package in order to be able to add the DDP to that ressie.

You can book a AAA room only discount through Disney, but packages must be booked using a AAA agent.

PLEASE let this be true!! We have a 1 day room only and a 7 night package with a pin code. I would LOVE to add dining to that room only!!

can you give me the best number to call and get a cm on the phone to discuss a room only package..

i believe this information is accurate, at least as of today... there have been no rumors or indication that the package requirements are going to change for non-AP holders any time soon...

Question...if you don't do the MYW package but do room only, do you get the 6months 0 financing on the visa card?

I do have the package set up, but like you, find it to be cheaper to do each separately. The problem is, I would like the 6 months financing to pay it off.

I just tried this out through the website, and it seems to be true! That will be great for my one night in September before our package!

I would love to know how you are doing it. I went on the website. I tried doing a room only and there was no where to add dining. I also tried under pacakges and clicked on the button to remove the tickets. When I did that, it also removed the option to add dining. I don't see how it's possible.
