New Incentives - Members

......But he did say that they were told that the BLT incentives were going back to just $5.00 per point at sometime in the near future (maybe 2 - 3 weeks).

.......... focusing on trying to push AKV and SSR and don't want BLT to sell out so quickly. AT this point, they are looking at 6 - 9 months and with the push for the other properties, maybe having BLT around longer.

Did guide actually say this : they " don't want BLT to sell out so quickly " ?

I don't get why they'd want to slow BLT sales down......but

if yes, then jmho there is more going on here than meets the eye where

BLT is concerned especially with webcasts past week with incentives valid

until June 20 and with referral booklet/cards members have received past

day or two which has a limited time cruise incentive offered as well for both

new member 160 pt purchase with referral & for existing member 100 pt

add-on.

:goodvibes

We are brand new DVC members. My guide today told me the price for our 265 pts at VGC was $90/pt. I asked about the $88 mentioned on the boards and he said it must be for existing members while on a cruise. He said there was nothing else he could see that could make the price $88 for us. Does this seem accurate? Thank you

Did you have a referral? When I spoke with my guide yesterday that is out here in CA she said $22 off for up to 200 points and $24 off for over 200 points.

For BLT I specifically asked if all units are declared. He completly skirted the subject by first saying yeah I think so. So I said really...all of BLT is declared and I think I threw him for a loop as he said yes, then I think so, well I think most of it, well there can't be much left to be declared. I got a chuckle as he was not prepared to answer that question. Doesn't mean anything but I know people have had those questions so I thought I would ask. I probably should have pushed him to tell me % but he was flustered as it was so next time someone talks to your guide ask him/her and see what they say.

Yes, we do have a referral. We actually signed paperwork a week or so ago when the price was $96. We have 2 contracts - 200 & 65 but our first guide (has since quit company) said originally that it would be treated as one for any incentives. The new guide also said this yesterday when I called to get the lower rate. I don't know what to do. She didn't say anything about $88 yesterday but said I was getting all the incentives available. Today when I called she was off (back on Friday) but the man I s/w said there was nothing to get to $88 unless people were getting this on a cruise. He said he really had no idea about $88 unless it was offered on cruises. Should I believe that this was for existing members or see if it is b/c our 265 is broken into 2 contracts so not being treated as over 200?
Thanks for all the responses so far.

I'm guessing the price difference is due to GCV not offering current year points for certain UYs?
I suspect it has more to do with the piont totals to book there. It takes a lot of points.

Yes, that is what he said, because we talked about how I didn't want it to sell out so quickly either since I wanted to be able to still add on next year (just couldn't make the 100 point add on work right now).

He told me that there is plenty of BLT left at this point but that they want to push the other properties as well. That is why they raised AKV.

Are any purchases still including Developer Points when you purchase add on?

Thanks for your reply Sandi, this is interesting. You'd think in these economic times that the last thing DVD would want to do is slow any sales down :confused3.

I feel like there's something in the background going on with BLT ( I admit - I probably try to 'read between the DVC lines' more than I should :rotfl: ) - - kinda like when they raised add-ons to 100 pt minimum and then about 6 weeks later put it back to 25 pts., then webcast incentives.....and will they even declare entire BLT into DVC inventory? - there was a recent interesting thread about possible benefits of units being split between DVC & CR, speculation of course but makes ya wonder if they may be mulling over a new strategy.

Guess we'll have to stay tuned ::yes::

I agree, something is up with BLT. Maybe they owe a lot on AKV and need to sell more of that to pay the bills!!!:laughing:

I also found it interesting that the webcast pushed BLT when the word was that they want to slow down sales there.

Now, I just added on another 50 points at BLT and got a thank you postcard from my guide today--it was an AKV postcard!!! Not that I think he made a mistake, but rather another way to push AKV!

We received our new contracts today for our 265 pts and VGC. It looks like we were given the $88/pt. Thanks to all who helped with my previous question on this. Now a new question. Our guide said they would send us a check for the difference b/t initial purchase (cash) and the new contract. She said it may take "awhile". How long is "awhile"? I asked and she said within a couple of weeks. Has anyone else received a refund check when doing new contracts and if so, how long did it take? Our member #s did change which I didin't expect, so I hope our Oct. reservation is still OK. I'll call on that. Thanks in advance to any info on the refund.

This is what my guide said were the new incentives as of today. I only asked about current members, but I would assume that they would work for new members who have a member referral.

Base price of $112.00:

BLT - $5.00 off, 50 - 99 points
BLT - $11.00 off, 100 +

AKV/SSR - $13.00 off, 50 - 99 points
AKV/SSR - $19.00 off, 100 - 124
AKV/SSR - $21.00 off, 125 +

I forgot to ask him about BLT at the 125 point level, and whether that adds another $2.00 off or not.

I noticed on the DVCmember website that they are still offering the free cruise. Does anyone know if we can get this new incentive price and the cruise?

When I spoke with my guide about the incentives for VGC, I was asking her specifically for 160 for a new member with a referral and she said they could get $22 off or they could get $16 off and a 3 day cruise. So you can still get the cruise, but the discount is not as high.

We just did an add on yesterday at BLT. We got a vacation point credit of $22.00 per point.

The add on yesterday we added 250 points. We did not get the cruise. We did an add on (I think it was April) and we got the cruise for that add on.

Any chance for a deduction in price for those of us who purchased GCV a couple of months back? I believe we got a $8.00 per point credit and a three-night cruise, which we have not booked yet.

Maybe i missed it but are their points available at OKW with incentives. Looking to buy 100-150 more points. I know the prices on Timeshare store but the contract are large than we need. We already have 755 points but this does not get us through the year anymore.:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

OKW is $101 for add-ons, 25 point minimum purchase ( points will have 2057 expiration).

BLT, AKV, SSR & VGC offer incentives for new purchasers & members who add-on.

Nope, if you check the DVC member website you'll probably find your contract is now closed and posted. :sad2: Our dues amount is also on the website.
