Sorry if you already knew about this but im new to this !! Looks a very nice hotel and all brand new ! Tried to get a price online but didnt work so i contacted Holiday Inn and they said not open till 1/5/09 but you can call the hotel direct now for bookings...

I was there last week looking, maybe I saw wrong building but didn't look as though they had started the work it was a complete mess.

Don't think this is a new hotel as address and picture of hotel is the Courtyard Marriot.

Thought the picture looked familiar in the link so checked the address.

Happens all the time, hotels changing hands with other brands.

Guess they will give it a quick makeover in between being a Courtyard and a Holiday Inn and as you say start taking guests from 1st May.

Yes you are correct it used to be a Courtyard, I am sure I was looking at the right building. Maybe because it was new year but no signs of any work being done, just looked a mess. If it was the right building I can't see them turning that into a fully functional hotel by May but I am no expert on hotel renovations.

Yes, I think this was the Courtyard by Marriott on Hotel Plaza Blvd. We stayed there twice (in 2000 and 2002) before it changed hands. Then I believe it changed to a HI after which it was badly hurricane damaged. I heard that HI just hadn't got the free $ to renovate what with the economic situation and the fact they'd just finished the Nick suites .
I'm glad there doing something with it - it used to be a realy nice hotel
