Jenzebelle, I can't agree with you more about how absurd prices have gotten here. We've lived in a western suburb of Boston for 9 years. There's NO WAY that we could afford to purchase our house if we were in the market today; housing prices have FAR exceeded salary increases over the last decade. I therefore feel that THERE IS A BUBBLE WAITING TO BURST!!!!

Yup - we're in the same boat here in the Bay Area. We couldn't afford to buy in this neighborhood today, and we only bought 3 1/2 years ago! Some of the houses in my neighborhood are listed at 1 million dollars! It's nuts!
