New home for the California letters

A little bit of Disney is comming to my back yard.

The letters that used to be outside California Adventure will now be at Cal-Expo in Sacramento (home of the state fair). I know it's not the same, but I'm glad they are going somewhere and not just into storage.

I thought I heard they moved those. Is there anything in their place?

It's tradition for us to take pics of my 2 boys on the C and A, so I guess that's down the tubes this year.

To bad they wont be up in time for the state fair. I live here also. Will have to go look around when they arrive!

They were removed in December of 2010. The new entrance to DCA comes out much further than the old entrance, leaving not enough room for the letters. I wouldn't say the new entrance is "in their place," but it's the reason for their removal.

What a great idea! I worried the letters would sit on some storage lot never to be seen by the public again.

I may have to plan a visit to the State Fair next year.

How exciting! But then also disappointing that they won't be up in time for the fair. Also disappointing that they won't be seen 90% of the year. Not too much happens at Cal Expo that requires exploring the grounds aside from the fair. I feel the same way about the awesome 9/11 exhibit we have at Cal Expo, just sits unless it's the fair.

I always go for the Western States Horse Expo. Won't get to see them this year but it sounds like they should be there next year. Still bummed they couldn't keep them at DL though.

Hmmmm...the article wasn't completely clear (or at least to me) where they would be located. Hopefully we can pay them a visit without paying to enter the facilities. Maybe they will be out front near the golden bears? Also.....I wonder if they will be gold, or have the holiday fronts (candy canes, candy corn) in October and December.
