New HM Queue Open Yesterday

Yes it was open today, we did not go through it because you are given the option to head straight to the mansion of go through the graveyard. We went straight to the mansion because the line was moving extremly slowly.

I'm inclined to do the same as you. I hate long waits. I doubt I will EVER see the interactive queues of Soarin or Space Mountain.

Hmm, I will have to wait to pass judgement on our next trip. I have to at least try it out first.

How many rides/attractions have interactive queues? How many are in line to get interactive queues?

Looking forward to seeing the new queue in May. :cool1:

I think it looks great and its nice that they have added some extra elements to HM. Will be amazing seeing this area at MNSSHP in october.:thumbsup2

Now off to find out what the new pooh que looks like.

Man... now i'm REALLY disappointed!

I was there on the 11th.... and my flight home was on the 12th. Even though I swung by the MK for a little bit before heading home, I didn't get a chance to ride the HM again because of my limited time available before my flight. :(

They have interactive queues at Soarin' and Space Mountain?

When soarin' first opened it did, but I've yet to see the things working. Does anyone know if those screens are even turned on anymore?
I've never gueued for Space, so I don't know about that.

Soarin' did not have anything originally...when they redid the queue, they added the screens and sensors. It's basically an interactive race between 4 groups of people in the queue, who have to all lean in unison left or right to control their avatar.

I've only seen it a few times though. They definitely don't turn them on first thing (since the queue is relatively empty and moving), but when things back up I would expect they are activated. The thing is - it stops the line completely.

The recent Space Mountain rehab added some multi-player video games in the standby queue. Haven't played them, as we flew by them on our last trip. However, don't run your hands along the controls!!!! The buttons are large and placed in metal button holders - with VERY sharp corners. Got a good gash in my finger when I accidentally whacked one.

Looks pretty cool. Unfrotunately, we wont see it as a family anytime soon. My daughter has a tremendous fear of the HM, even though she has never ridden it.

I dunno. Looks like a few interesting ideas but nothing that adds to the atmosphere of the attraction which for HM is the most important element. I'll reserve judgment until I see it in May but I do have major reservations.

Hi
I noticed the sign said a 60 minute wait. They used to have fastpass for this. I wonder if they'll bring fastpass back. I hope so. I much rather spend less time in line, even with the new que area.

I am so upset they moved Master Gracey's grave to the absolute smallest plot imaginable. Now everyone's going to be touching it and sticking things on it... ugh.

And those new busts look like they came out of a horribly animated Haunted Mansion cartoon. The new epitaphs are dumb and it all just looks like a big mess to me. I guess I need to see it in person, but it's like they made the mansion out to be a big joke so that kids wouldn't get scared. I am not a fan of these changes. Looks like I'm in the minority, though :sad2:

I do like the interactive musical instruments, but it all just seems so unnecessary.

I agree. They look like cheap plastic props or something. And they look like they are just thrown into place. But it could be how the pictures were taken. So we will all have to experience it in person, I'm hoping it looks cool when there :upsidedow

We leave in a few hours and can't wait to see this new queue line at HM. This is one of DD6's favorite rides even though she always tucks under moms arm throughout the first half of the ride.

For those of you there now, how is the crowds situation? We've never gone during the times when the kids are out of school and this will be our first venture to WDW with massive crowds since this is DD's first year in school.

We leave on Thursday and I can't wait to see it. I am also curious about the crowds right now as we have never been over spring break either. However, we have been there over Fourth of July several times and it was packed and hot! Hopefully the cooler weather will make the crowds more tolerable.

They got rid of Fastpasses at least 5 years ago because it wasn't needed. I don't anticipate it will be needed again.

I'd take the 60 minutes with a grain of salt. If people were loitering checking out the queue, that would greatly inflate the wait time.

Is the queue wheelchair accessible? I love the HM but I hate the way accessibility is handled there. I get pulled off to the side fairly early but then wait for a long time in a second line. Usually I see people who were in line with me leaving before I get sent in. Plus I always have to skip the stretching room.

I'd love the line to be mainstreamed now. :thumbsup2

I've heard but not confirmed that it has been mainstreamed - not sure when that was done though. Wasn't the case in December.

i thought this was weird too, some of the tombstones are on a raised, thin, wall... the other tombstones give the impression someone is burried there with the little space around them, but this set up is just weird, they look like garden decorations.

overall i'm looking forward to seeing the new que, but... after that, i'm sure i'll just skip it.
