can anyone tell me anything about the new Hilton near or on International Drive, its just down from the Vistana Villages.

Thank you

Hi, we just returned home last night. We did the whole timeshare thing (had a great offer from Hilton- 3 nights in a 1 bedroom for about $200 plus tax). We were extremely sceptical when it came time for the 2 hour timeshare presentation. Yes, the property is gorgeous, but we never saw ourselves buying a timeshare. Well, Saturday morning my husband and I bought a 2 bedroom in platinum season! After we did the math, it actually made sense for us. We are going on a huge trip to Hawaii in 2006 with my parents and our two kids, so the total purchase price of the timeshare is only $10,000 more than we were planning on spending for lodging in Hawaii. Plus, they gave us a huge amount of bonus points to use next year as an incentive to join. So, we will be going to Hawaii next year with a 3 bedroom suite for almost 2 weeks! However, we don't vacation like everyone else (we tend to go overboard), so it may not be a good deal for other people.

The property is not finished yet. They have three complete buildings and are working on buildings 4 & 5 right now. There will be 7 buildings total when the property is fully developed, and another pool and pizza parlor. The pool is nice, but does not have a slide. There is a game room with pool tables, a quiet room, and a little store. The resort is beautifully themed, with italianate pieces of artwork in the lobby and common areas. The one and two bedrooms are very roomy, with fold out couches in the living rooms, flat screen tvs, and dvd players. There is a screened in porch in every unit. The kitchens have granite countertops and are well stocked with dishes, silverware, pots/pans, and cooking utensils. There are also small stacked washers and dryers and nice two person jacuzzi tubs in the one/two bedrooms. We toured all the units, and the studios have kind sized beds and a small kitchenette area with refrigerator and microwave. I didn't look too much at the studio, so I might be missing some of the details there.

There are pictures of the resort on the hgvc website. It really is as beautiful as it looks!!! If you have any other questions, let me know. :sunny:

it is a better area than Vistana Village - it is across the street from the Publix and behind the Premium Outlet Mall....

a nice location if you like to shop!

Dolly's dinner show is also in a walkable distance.

we own at that Hilton. we have stayed in a lot of time share properties around Orlando.. and this is by far the best one we have stayed at!

I was wondering if someone could tell me whether or not staying at the HGVC vs on-site disney resorts is worth it. I have been to WDW several times over the last few years and always stayed on-site. I have never stayed off-site because I have been spoiled by the Disney convenience. Could someone who has experienced both let me know there views on it. We are heading down in November and would like to make our reservations soon. Thank you.

completely depends upon you.

some people hate to stay offsite and blame the hotel. they would have better off to stay at a value resort at WDW.

others have a wonderful time and love staying off site. this is a timeshares - so if you get a 2-bedroom vs a studio -then you will have so much more room you will wonder why you didn't do it before.

if you love the WDW bus system and don't like to drive - then stay on-site at WDW. If you like to drive then try offsite. Every person is different so no one can tell you if you will like it or not. Try it then decide.

the HGVC is one of the best timeshares I have ever stayed in - their people aren't quite as good as WDW but pretty nice. there was a child at my door - who was lost - at WDW - I could call the front desk and security would be there quick - here I got told that the parents would show up - they didn't his brother did - but still I like that WDW cares a little more for the little folk than HGVC seems to.

Now Universal's hotel have even better employees than WDW has.
