Hi everyone! Just to let you know I think these boards are great! I am just starting to plan a WDW vacation with my family - DH and 3 kids ages 9, 7 and 4. We are planning on going next year sometime - when is the best time to go to get the most for the price. I'm thinking either the end of August or maybe in June?? We are just starting this process and need help.

Thanks

Hi! Welcome, i'm pretty new myself. WDW is my most favorite place to be. That is except when it's hot! If you could at all possible try to go when it's cooler. My families fav. time is the week of Thanksgiving. The weather is nice (can still get pretty hot during the day) and the crowds are light and the Christmas decorations are up. If that time doesn't work then maybe schools in your area are out for a winter break in Feb. This week works out nicely for our family as well. Did I mention we don't like the heat?

Hi! We are planning on a next summer trip as well! It's fun planning and anticipating, isn't it?!! My kids are almost 8, 5 1/2, and 4 1/2. I don't know if this is your first trip ever or not but what has helped us in the past is the unofficial guide to disneyworld (look for the current year's edition, they update every year) and subscribing to tourguidemike. Allearsnet.com is another great resource. I don't know when the best time of the year to go is but I would think June would be less crowded than August as many schools will still be in session. We traveled last August and had a wonderful time. I think next summer we will go in July (we have to work around school schedules). Whenever you go it's always magical!

If your kids can miss school I would go with the beginning of May, October or even January. January can be chilly, well even cold sometimes, but I think summer is just too crowded and HOT! We went in August once and I swear I felt like my skin was singed!

Hi! I have only been to WDW one time, and it was early in Dec. of 2005. We pulled our daughter out of school for 2 1/2 days and had 4 days in the parks. It was wonderful. The weather was great and the crowds were low, and the parks and resports are decorated beautifully for Christmas. There are also extra events going on (like the Christmas party at the Magic Kingdom) that make the holidays a great time to go! I can no longer go during school, because of my job, so this year we are going from the 19th-24th, which is supposed to be less crowded than between Christmas and New Year's or during Spring Break (which for us is the week after Easter). That being said, if I had to choose between August and June, I would vote for June, especially if you can go at the very beginning because not all schools will be out and the crowds and heat might be less than in August. I agree with the previous posters about the other great times they suggested, but if you have to choose between August and June, then like I said, I'd choose June! And don't forget that any day at Disney World is a good day! Also, you might want to check out the website www.allears.net I used to to help plan my last trip (and this one!) and it is wonderful! Happy planning and good luck!:goodvibes
