Hello, My name is Danielle, we have a trip to disney planned for dec 31st to Jan 8 2012. We are on the basic dining plan. I have a lot of reservations already to mostly character meals, but I can't decide on what to do for my Epcot day, we will be there 2 days, we already have a reservation for the garden grill and I would like to do a non character meal at a restaurant that has great food for dinner. Any suggestion? Also, if I don't make any reservations can i still find restaurants to eat, or do they all require Advanced reservations? thanks

You should def make reservations....I say you should go to allears.net or disneyworld.com and look at the menus and pick what you like.

We love Via Napoli, Tutto Italia and Nine Dragons...or you could go to the resorts and have dinner at Flying Fish, Yachtsman or Cape May Clambake.

I would recommend either Via Napoli or Teppan Edo. Both are great experiences, beautifully themed, and have fantastic food :)

Biergarten is our favorite. Via Napoli and Rose & Crown would tie for 2nd. Le Cellier (for lunch; dinner takes 2 plan credits) is also good.

I really enjoy both of the Mexican restaurants (San Angel Inn & La Hacienda de San Angel) as well. (And Le Cellier and Via Naploi, haven't dined at the others yet though, except Marrakesh which I will avoid). I do prefer Hacienda's dinner menu to San Angel Inn's, but they are both very good.

Of course, the fact that me, plus the 3 above me have listed off nearly every WS restaurant in Epcot probably isn't helping much :p. Take a look at the sample menus on either AllEars.net or right here on WDWInfo.com and see what jumps out at you. You really can't go wrong with any of them (except Marrakesh :p).

Really depends on your taste...WE like german food so Beirgarten is one of our favorites, also fun for the kids. Via Napoli has some of the best pizza I have eaten! Epcot has great food, you really can't go wrong! Enjoy your trip!!

We love Teppon Edo and Garden Grill. This time I've changed it up and we will be eating at Coral Reef, Les Chefs, Le Cellier, and Rose & Crown.

We enjoyed Le Cellier and Chefs de France on our last trip and will be going to those again this trip. Read the restaurant reviews on the Disboard and the menus on Allears.net and you should be able to figure out what appeals to you. I would definitely have a reservation. The last time we were in Disney (August 2012) the resaurants were crowded and people were being turned away. I know not everyone likes to have a schedule when on vacation, but we look forward to the planned breaks in the day.

For sure, it depends on what you like. We enjoy Rose & Crown because there's something for everyone (veg, burgers, fish).

Biergarten. Plus you didn't mention if "we" included any girls of princess-loving age. If so, then Akershus (although you did say non-character).

I would say with 200% certainty that you ABSOLUTELY will need a reservation for where ever you want to eat considering you are going during the BUSIEST WEEK OF THE YEAR. It is going to be slammed jammed full of wall to wall ppl at the parks and in the restaurants, so book something now.

Dec 31 will be the heaviest part of the trip... still somewhat heavy Jan 1, BUT there should be some significant decrease after the 1st. Those first few days in January, you should be ok to walk up to some restaurants, but not just any. Just don't expect many options the first two days of your trip without reservations.

I don't want you to panic though! The busiest week of the year ends Jan 1. You've still got most of your trip without such crowds. Nevertheless, as you research and find restaurants you'd like to try, see what reservations you can get. Better safe than sorry.

OMG there are so many good places to eat at Epcot!! Almost all my ADRs are at Epcot.
We love: Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Rose & Crown, Garden Grill, & Teppan Edo. I probably missed one. We will be eating at Via Napoli next trip!! :)
