I was hoping to take my family down to universal over xmas (dec23-26) for a much needed holiday, We have to get 2 rooms due to our family size, and I was hoping to stay on site to take advantage of all the perks......We are very used to getting thru 4 parks in disney in 6 days, so how should I work this at universal ??? We need tickets for all of us too, but aren't against using a day for lounging at the hotel if there are things to do
How would you work this all out if you were me??????? we do have AAA, but no other discounts.........

You can easily do a park per day if you are staying on site. Normally one would just get up and move at whatever leisurly pace they feel like but since it is both Christmas and the first season of the new Harry Potter area you would want to be at IOA whenever they open it for hotel guests.

Run..don't walk...to your nearest AAA office and see if they have any of the 7 day $99 tickets left!

Agree with pp - see if your local AAA has any of the discounted tickets left. We got ours for $95 in Dec. Also AAA will give you a discount on the room and a 10% discount on at most of the restaurants in the parks and City Walk plus at some of the stores. The discount is also good on the snack wagons. One thing is definitely different than Disney, you don't have to plan as much and you can take your time and enjoy the parks. With staying on-site and having the unlimited express pass (except reports say HP will be one time per day) you will have not problems doing the parks and having time for the pool.
