We are leaving Pa to head to Disney for our first time on Feb 28, 2010. I have never been to Disney either and have no idea what to pack for myself, hubby or the kids. Any suggestions for this time of year? I never even been to Florida before. HELP!!!!

Welcome to the Dis!!

Basically, you need a bit of everything this time of year - jeans, sweatshirts, capris, shorts, swimsuits. It's a good time to think layers!

The weather is so unpredictable at this time. I would plan on at least a hoody or maybe a sweatshirt for everyone esp for night time. Long pants and long sleeve tees as well. I have been there in Dec. with a coat and then in Jan. went swimming at night so just be prepared to bring a couple of spring outfits. I know some people use to being in the cold as we are will find Fl temp to be very comfortable. Pools are all heated so you should be able to swim.:yay: Hope you have a great time.

I've done Disney in Feb before. You need to take clothes that can be layered. We had high's of 70's and high's of mid 50's and about freezing at night. I took sweatshirts- both pull overs and zip-ups for layering as well as jeans and shorts. The coldest day it took all day to get to 55. I hope this helps.

I am from PA,too and we have done WDW in Feb. We wore jeans and shorts with short sleeves, depending on the weather for that day. I would watch the FL weather in the morning. I know it's hard to pack too much especially if you are flying. It's colder this year though (we went in 2003) so you may want to pack more jeans/pants then shorts. And definitely a hoodie or sweatshirt or sweater. In '03, it was mid to high 70's during the day and never went under 60 at night. It was great (my kind of weather. My DH likes it hotter.) I would check the weather online every day. I do that every time we are going there, though. =) They always say comfortable shoes are the most important thing. Sunglasses and sunscreen are still a must. It's very dry this time of year from what I hear which is a plus. Did you mean only clothes when you asked about packing or other items as well? Let me know if I can help any.

hi im from pa also!
have a magical trip!
take a little of everything!

My favorite thing I pack is a shoe organizer that hangs on a door. We hang it on the bathroom door. This allows the sinks to stay clear and medication out of reach. Plus it's easy to find what you're looking for.

We pack a little of everything. Mostly shorts but we always bring a pair of pants for those cooler evenings. We also bring a light jacket or sweat shirt. Tennis shoes and a pair of flip flops (for the trips to the pool)

Enjoy your trip!

Hi from PA as well!

I agree with everyone else about layers! Florida has been on the "cool side" so far this winter.

Enjoy your trip!

Hi fellow PAer you might want to add some stocking hats for at night if the temp drops to 40 your ears will get cold watching fire works and one more thing nobody thinks about a small FLASHLIGHT so you can read the park maps at night and see the sidewalks at your resort better

I do Disney in Feb EVERY year.. lol as you can see.. Well everybody is correct so far. you want to take all sorts of clothes. Jackets that are waterproof, jeans, sweatshirt, shorts, long sleeve and short sleeve shirts.

Also bring GOOD walking shoes.. NO HIGH HEELS.. lol you should of seen how much pain my sister was in. Also, bring flipflops just in case its really warm or you are heading down to the food court

Just returned last week and agree with ppostings. I would also add dollar store rain ponchos. We brought regular rain ponchos but strictly used the dollar store ones because they were easy to stick in a pocket or purse and then you can just throw them away. They are also good for water rides when you don't want to be wet all day!:goodvibes

We are also going to disney Feb 27th (from PA). Pack clothing that can be layered... I'll be traveling with a 2 year old and hubby and will pack jeans w/ tanks or tee covered with a zip-up hoodie.

The age of your kids really makes the packing list differ...

Comfy shoes! You are in for a lot of walking. On our first trip, I brought new sneakers for DH & myself. We had serious blisters! Bring very comfortable shoes!:goodvibes

Hi, PA...we are going the same time from DE(Delaware)...
Here's some of our tips right off the top of my head...for two adults (I imagine we would probably need a handcart or flatbed if we had our 4 children going!)...fanny pack...(I have one with several pouches...leather...not touristy-looking and no, I do not use it any other time in the year!)...small backpack...hand sanitizer...Merrell Mocs...extra underwear and socks (no washing for us)...layered clothing (we were there last year at this time...first 2 days we froze...glad we had brought jeans...adding dollar store gloves and hand warmers this year for just in case)...retractable sharpies (for character autographs...going to ask Daisy for my blue one from last year...j/k)...small cooler (no fridge rental...we flew...put it in my suitcase with other stuff in it then filled with ice all week)...bar of Dial soap...used Body Glide last year and going to try deodorant for chafing this year...that's it for now...but if I think of any others, I'll be back later...I hate to sign off...ha!

7 full days left...deep breath!!
