New Haunted Mansion movie

Was completely disappointed by the first attempt. They definitely got the right director.

And since it's him, it's going to be way darker and maybe even more violent/scary than the first try. Can't wait. :D

This is pretty interesting news, I loved the original script they had for the Haunted Mansion (the story was alot better) and the Eddie Murphy one was good but it lacked something. Shall be interesting to see this one:cool1: though I'm abit =/ as the other film wasn't all that long ago and by the way the articles title is its like it hasn't been in the cinema before.

Having read more of the article I'm looking very forward to it as it seems they want to be very true to the ride ^_^

I read somewhere they were calling it 999 haunts.... I absolutely adored pans labrynth and hope it sticks more to that feel. Hellboy was not my favorite movie I have to say, but one way or the other Del toro is a very talented director with a knack for unconventional stories.

I cannot wait... I think it'll be good.. the last one was honestly lacking... Guillermo Del Toro is awesome; I am surprised that Tim Burton didn't attempt this movie.

The right director, for sure. I couldn't sit through the Eddie Murphy version -- and that was renting it on DVD in the comfort of my own living room. Madame Leota definitely deserved better than that. Bring on the scary HM movie...I'll be first in line.

I've read a bunch of other sites about this upcoming movie and he claims it's going to be scary, that if children are in the theater, they WILL scream. :)

Is there any news on the movie? I keep googling it with no luck. Maybe they'll announce something at the Destination D or at the expo?

I wasn't too happy with the one with Eddie.

I love Pan so having Del Toro do this makes me very happy. :worship:

I've been wondering why this subject is so silent, too. Has filming begun?

My guess is that it was either a rumor or shelved because it isn't on Guillermo Del Toro's IMDB page and he looks booked through 2014.

What is interesting is that his newest, announced project is Pinocchio.

Amazing!! I've watched the Eddie Murphy version more than a few times and hopefully this will be even better! :goodvibes

Nothing much has been going on for this movie because he's too busy working on Franken Weenie. He's even turned down directing the Malificent live action, staring Angelina Jolie. They're writing the script now, but one of the Harry Potter directors is taking over. Last it was talked about regarding the haunten mansion movie is here: http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/07/22/c...-announces-haunted-mansion-remake-for-disney/

God I loved the first Franken Weenie :lovestruc -
hope he does not mess it up.

I wonder what direction they will go with. Personally, I think if they take a page (pun intended) from the Haunted Mansion comic book (that was out a few years ago) they can't go wrong.
