That was what WDW wanted to do. Just that ride and no land.

That could be a cool ride. Wonder what it will be themed to. Could see two good options. Either something over in Hogsmead area themed to the Forbidden Forests where you have to fight off creatures in the forest like Acromantulas, Dementors, maybe Centaurs attacks, etc.
Or have it be for the Ministry of Magic and could kind of recreate the finale of Order of the Phoenix, like Gringotts recreates the bank break-in from Deathly Hallows. Set it up as you joining the DA in their rescue attempt of Sirius at the Department of Mysteries and help fight the Death Eaters.

I think this makes such sense. It's kinda like MIB or Buzz Lightyear where you shoot at targets, but only s million percent better because it's HP!!

Yea and think they could enhance it well beyond in general too. more interactive elements, multiple paths (as mentioned in the patent), and the props interacting. MiB is fun but it's pretty static aside form the cars spinning. I could see a Department of Mysteries ride where you can have different paths through different rooms, "knocking over" or "levitating" certain items, or blowing things up on a screen projection. Could be an awesome battle. Imagine it'd be a mixture of props and projections.

Noooo seriously? Theu honestly thought that's all Hp deserved lol
I absolutely love disney been a massive fan for 28yrs, but I'm so absolutely pleased that universal got Hp! They have done an outstanding job, and I only hope they add another ride or two, like....
The ministry for magic

YES! This first idea could even tie in the Fantastic Beasts as well!! You could move through several different locations to fight off creatures....Forbidden Forest, New York City, hidden passages within Hogwarts! It would be a great ride for in-ride photo opportunities too because we would all have our wands out and serious wizard faces on!!!

Yea as fun as I think battling the Death Eaters would be think the prior option would be better and put a more standard Mystic Manor type dark ride in Ministry of Magic. With having the MiB ride next to the likely location for MoM would seem a little strange to have both interactive rides right next ot each other. Think be better to have a more traditional dark ride in Universal since they really don't have one and put and interactive one into IoA

According to this article universal has filed some patents that might suggest a ride that will use interactive wands to score points.

I would love to zip around Hogwarts classrooms earning points for my spell work, or to fight off death eaters at the ministry of magic. What does everyone think??
Interesting, thank you for posting.

WDW has tons of patents that never come to fruition, if something hits a designer think all the parks scurry to patent it.

That said, I can see U seriously considering this as it would likely sell a ton more of the wands. No scratch that, probably a ton more of new & improved wands that must be purchased to enjoy the attraction fully lol.

Although, they probably won't allow loose wands on the ride, lol. Wands will need to be tethered like the guns in MIB. You know Universal and those loose objects!!!!

Today I caved and bought a fanny pack. Neoprene type, with the proper clapse. Just big enough for an iPhone and the few other things I normally drag into the park. Trying to convince myself it's stylish as it has a black & white print - ha! Woudn't be caught dead with it outside of the parks. When in Rome...

Would like to see the patent details. Perhaps the TMs would lock & load them into the ride somehow.

I can just hear everyone yelling out spells as they flick their wands about. It would be quite hilarious.

Do you plan to wear it when we hit Hhn together ?

Maybe I will wear mine then

We will be twins :rolleyes1

So the idea is to put something in Fear Factor Live's spot?
Nothing has been confirmed but it's one of the highly theorized spots for an addition. Would give enough space for a new attraction an is a show that isn't very popular anymore. Ministry of Magic is a likely addition, an some of the designers have mentioned wanting to design an attraction for it, as it would be a large enough piece to do a lot with versus a generic village or individual small houses. And as it is in London, building it next to the London section of Diagon Alley would be the most logical location.
But nothing has been confirmed or heavily rumored from inside sources yet.

Hahaha truth. People were talking about "maybe they'll let us use our own Wands!" And I'm thinkin... Yeah, okay keep dreaming.

I do genuinely love this idea. Even after I've said maybe they should stop now before it comes Harry Potter and the universal studios. One more ride can't hurt.....
