We had my daughters first hair cut here at just over 1 year old, and it was so much fun. This year when we go, she will be a month shy of four. I failed to make a Bibbity Bobbity Boutique reservation early enough, and we have a late BBB appt at 6:40, and I'm not sure I want to keep that.

So as an alternative, I thought about making a Harmony Barber shop appt for her . I primarily just wanted a style - like a fun pony tail and the confetti, more than a trim. I don't have a problem with them cutting her hair, but I don't see her actually *needing* a haircut.

Thoughts?

Haircuts is what they do...
for babies, girls, boys, teens, men, and women.

There was a report not long ago that they had ceased doing "glitter sprinkles,"
but I find that difficult to believe.

You can make an appointment for just a style for your daughter - they'll put her hair up in one or two ponytails. They used to put colored gel in the hair, but haven't done that for the past couple of years. They do use come confetti-type "pixie dust" which is colorful and very cute. (Like Robo, I would be surprised if they're not doing the confetti.) We haven't done it in a few years, but it was less than $10 last time, so very inexpensive. Make an appointment, though, so you don't have to wait. We also went back the next day and they put some more confetti in for free.

And, you can get pixie dusted for free at BBB or Castle Couture - just ask and they'll dust you.

We got my DD's hair cut there a few months ago & I saw a little girl getting glitter in her hair. She had also gotten a haircut though. I'm guessing they might do a little extra something, followed by a haircut, but nothing too fancy or time consuming, since thats what BBB is for.

My DD is too young for BBB, so I'm not exactly sure how it is booked, but I have heard they have more than one location (one in MK & one in DTD?) Have you checked both locations for a better reservation time?

I think I may just schedule her for a trim - we can always use one of those - and ask about the styling and fun stuff. I just didn't want her looking all ragged and messy all week while we waited for her bangs and hair to be trimmed :) We would be doing this on our next to last day at Disney.l

As for BBB, we really would like an appt at Magic Kingdom, as we are currently not planning time at DTD. I have the 6:40 appt and I'm calling occasionally to check for cancellations as well.

I just called the WDW-PLAY number and the lady confirmed that they will do a style (braids, pony tail, etc) and pixi dust only. It is less than a regular haircut ($19) but she could not give me an exact price.

All the times I've been to Disney I don't think I've ever seen this place or walked right by it without knowing. What is it near and do they take walk-ups or they're usually too busy for that?? :)

It is right next to where the parade floats come out/go away depending on the route it takes at the very front of Main St. It's kind of around the corner, not on the main drag. It will be on the left when you come in. My dad does walk ins for a hair cut every trip (and he's almost 60!) and tries to time it around parade time so he can watch in air conditioing. He says he always sees nursing moms in there too.

It's across the street from the Firehouse where the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom cards are distributed.

Still not visualizing where it is, but I'm sure someone can direct me at that time - going to hold off on getting DD that trim until we're there. Thanks =)

If you're looking at the castle from the flagpole, it's on the left in the corner between the firehouse and Emporium (I think that's the store there). DH usually ends up getting a haircut there on our visits.

When we went March 2013 I had booked my grandkids appts. A week before we went my SIL took them to get haircuts. So my granddaughter got a style (they pixie dusted her) and I took grandson's appt. I got just my bangs trimmed. They aren't equipped to wash hair, just a spray. My profile pic is the style they did on granddaughter. After CM cut my bangs she pulled my hair up in ponytail. Unlike my granddaughter (she got her father's hair :( ) I have a lot of very thick hair. I never wear my hair up its so heavy I get headaches. But Omgosh I wore that ponytail all day, amazing. I only paid $15 for both of us.
***quick note...you can't tip on a CC so please bring a cash tip***. They are really good and compared to BBB so much more affordable. Also they are not allowed to do buns the CM explained to us. She felt bad but my daughter said "no worries I have bobby pins in my purse". We'd definitely go back. Waiting for my youngest granddaughter's hair to grow so she can't get her first cut there.
