Hello all! My name is Jenny & I'm from the lovely Bluegrass state. I am taking my 2 yr old ds to see Mickey for the first time in Oct & we can't wait!!! Since I found this message board I've learned so much. I can't tell you what a treasure chest of info everyone has been! I just wish I had found out about the Free Dining before we made our reservations. Oh well.......gives me incentive to go again next year! Looking forward to chatting with everyone!

:welcome:

You'll find lots of great info here.
October happens to be my FAVORITE time of year to go, and we've (almost) always been able to get a room discount that time or year, so don't feel too bad about the free dining thing.

Be prepared to spend lots of time on these boards - it becomes somewhat addictive, especially if you have a trip planned. :rotfl:

:welcome:
We're from KY too...AND also going in October. It's a small DisWorld. :cool1:
Are you flying or driving?

I'll add another "Welcome!" to a fellow Kentuckian. Looks like we will have a real Bluegrass Get Together down at Disney this October.
We will be staying at Fort Wilderness starting Oct. 11 for Wedding Anniversary and Halloween Camping. Our little girl is very excited to go Trick-or-Treating at Mickey Mouses' House.
What dates will Ya'll be staying?

You'll have to do a trip report when you get back so we know what we can expect!

We are trying to go when my little boy is 2. Last time he was 7 months....can't wait to see the difference.

Have fun and Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome! I feel very at home here. We were initially going to drive but considering we can't drive 2 hrs to Louisville without my son wanting out of his car seat we opted for the plane! We'll also be there Oct 11-19th. I hope the weather is nice. In the past I've always gone when it's been painfully hot & it's almost hard to enjoy yourself. My son is obsessed with all of the Pixar films. Unfortunately we just bought a house & can't figure out how to hook the DVD player to the new Satellite system. We're having some major meltdowns - I'm gonna have to call customer service! BTW - any tips for a child with nut allergies while at Disney? We've made our ADR's but it's more the quick service areas I'm concerned about. Also - how in the world do you customize & make those darlin' little tickers?

Thanks!
Jenny

Howdy...another Kentucky girl here also. We are heading out in Oct....and really looking forward to it. We will be staying at the Fort Wilderness campground:thumbsup2

I hope you have a great trip!!!!!!

Hello! We are also from Kentucky. Going on a Land/Sea trip at the end of September/first of October with a 3 year old.

Us too...

We're from just outside Lexington and we're going in October too. :cool1:

It's a small world after all:lmao:

Welcom

Wow I can't believe the number of Kentuckians going in October. We are from Northern KY and going October 8-14 during DD's fall break. It is our first trip to the World and I'm really excited.

Wow - so many of you all are close to us. We live in Owensboro, KY. We're staying at the CBB and it looks so relaxing! We're going to take a down day & possible drive to the beach.......however.........we've got a mini-beach at our resort (I think). We're also discussing the possibility of Sea World. My son loves Penguins - his very first favorite movie was "Happy Feet". Any thoughts????

My daughter is a BIG "Happy Feet" fan. She saw a picture of the penguins at Sea World in a travel book and thinks she is going to see them. I am hoping Mickey will take her mind off that. We have no plans to visit Sea World this trip. If we had the time and $ we would definitely take her.
