I heard that a new Frozen live show similar to the one WDW has will replace the Muppets Theatre in Californian Adventure Park. Does anyone know if this is true and when it is likely to happen?

Rumors are most likely true, although they haven't officially announced it. December 20th is the date I keep hearing.

Is this only temporary for the winter/Christmas season I wonder? Id love to see it.

Even if it were only intended for Christmas time, I think if the popularity was there, which i'm sure it will be, then it might become permanent. I hope I can see it when I visit next year.

I know Frozen is popular, but I'd be pretty sad if it took over permanently. I love the Muppets!

Statler and Waldorf are not going to be happy about this. Neither am I because if I have to listen to those songs again, I am going to jump from the balcony!
:)

I love the muppet show too! I would be sad if it was gone forever and I love the frozen songs.

I dunno. I think Disney has about achieved that saturation point where the backlash from over-exposure begins.

Definitely feel like losing the Muppets would be a mistake. They bring a sense of humor that's needed. If anything, update the film!

Of course I'm no fan of the Frozen movie, characters, or music anyway.

I remember reading that the Frozen show will only stay for a few months until the 60th anniversary celebration begins. I really hope that it does not become permanent.

If anything, I wish they would bring Philharmagic to DCA, if they did decide to remove the Muppets. I like the Muppets, but the show is dated for sure.

My son loves the Muppets 3D show and we see it at least twice each trip. However, in all the times we have seen the show (10+ times over the last few years) there has never once been more than 25 or so other people in the entire theatre. Great for us since it means no crowds but it means that the space is severely underutilized.

Muppets is already closed down. Frozen stage show should be there the week of Christmas. Kind of a bummer because my trip next week will get nothing from the closure or new show. And we love the Muppets. My son cracks up everytime Miss Piggy goes water skiing.

Philharmagic would be awesome, I love that show :thumbsup2

The Muppets show is only dated if you've seen it a bunch of times.

For newbies to it it's fresh and new and hilarious. Just took a newbie the other day! (to the Orlando one, but it's the same show)

Interesting you should say that. My friend went for the first time just in August. He thought it was funny and laughed (he laughs at everything though), but even he agreed it seemed somewhat dated.

Making such a big deal about being 3D, in and of itself, makes it seem old, since 3D movies are so common now. The production, in my opinion, does not feel fresh or of this time. The jokes are still funny, but that doesn't mean it's not dated.

It doesn't seem like it would be tough to adapt that theater to Philharmagic. I just love that show!

K I have to admit I have NOT seen frozen (yes, I'm living in a time warp) but it is DS #1 GF's favorite thing in life (she is 22 lol) and she is coming on this trip with us as well as her younger sister DS #2's GF (I know - funny). The girls have been to Disney before but they have never seen any of the shows? Not WOC, not F!, not Aladdin so I am trying to make sure we get all of these worked in during the busiest week of the year-yikes! When you say live, do you mean more along the line of what Aladdin is now? Aladdin is up there as one of my favorite things to do so if this is another live show I will be over the moon also.

I read somewhere that it is going to be a sing along. So I am not sure it will be an actual show per se.
