Anyone else not seeing the new Free Dining offer in the Special Offers section on the WDW website? I only see the current offer for Canadians to save up to 30% through June 14th, booking by March 31st. I don't see the new offer. Anyone?

For some reason it's not showing up on the Canada site. But you can book if you call. That is what I did yesterday. Also if you go to the Disney site, go to the bottom of the page and on the left there is a select an international section. Click on USA and you will see the free dining offer under specials.

Hope this helps.

ahhh I see it now!!! Now if only the flights weren't $3500 for the time free dining is one for 5 of us!

Yep, I see it now too. That is very strange. We already booked free dining for Aug 19 - 27 from last year's FD that included this time period for Canadians only, just wanted to see if there was any difference but our resort (POFQ) isn't even available.

Try checkiing again, using the American web site. I just tried and had no problem finding availability. The dates start on Aug 25th though. Try going to advanced search and specify mods and then select POFQ.

I know what you mean. I was excited to book (booked online via the US site) but the flight prices for that time seem high. WestJet is even higher than Air Canada. I prefer to fly with the airline that doesn't threaten to strike every time a major holiday approaches, but man...

I did get an e-mail about an Air Canada sale starting 5 Sep, but I'm going in Aug.

My friend booked a package thru her travel agent a few weeks ago PAYING for dining, and her agent told her "no worries, when it comes out, we'll get it changed." I told her about the offer this week, and she emailed me tonight to say that her agent told her they were sold out. REALLY??? A few days into the offer??? I told her to go back and give her other choices for resorts and see what she can get.

Anyone here had any luck getting ASSports for the week of Aug 25th?

I just checked online for Aug 25 for one week at ASSports and there was availability. I would have your friend call your travel agent again. Also tell your friend that if there is no availability at that resort to try a different one.

Some agents don't deal directly with Disney but through brokers that their agency has contracts with. So while Disney may have availability that specific agent may not through their broker. Quite often though the broker is able to get more rooms assigned. Have your friend speak to their agent again.

I too had checked the website and had no problem getting what my friend wanted, so I knew something wasn't right. Turns out my friend had NOT used the travel agent so it was my friend that had called WDW directly to be told "sorry, sold out". She said the girl didn't seem to know what she was doing, even when she asked her to check availability at other resorts as well ... the CM told her "this has been out for a week, of COURSE we're going to be sold out already." :headache:

Hearing this put me on a mission to get my friend her free dining!

She came over after work, and we were able to pull up Sports for that week. Then got talking about having a TS in her dining options, and ended up booking her at CSR for the week. :cool1: She was going to call CRO today and cancel her original ressie. :thumbsup2

She was frustrated with the experience, but quite happy to have me help her resolve it over a glass of wine at my computer. :lmao: Next on the list is to get her dining ressies made ... I sent her off with a list of favourites to check out the menus, and told her that there was more wine waiting when she was ready to proceed. ;)

Thanks for all of the info regarding travel agents and possibility of availability problems ... good to know for future reference! :thumbsup2
