"Beginning today (January 12, 2015), the Fastpass+ viewing location for both the Festival of Fantasy and Main Street Electrical Parades will be moving from the Cinderella Castle hub area to the Town Square hub area near the flagpole."

Can any speak to this new FP+ location? We did FOF FP+ in September in front of castle and it was great.........hot:cool2:......but a really good spot. Curious how the change described above changes (if anything) the viewing?

Town Square Hub is the circle when you first walk into the park. How it differs is you seethe parade earlier or later in its run.

Biggest factor will relate to Main St. Electrical parade, if the guest ALSO wants to see Wishes (and Celebrate the Magic.)

Town Square (AKA, the flagpole area) is not a good spot for viewing Wishes and CtM. And, especially if the guest has a FP+ for both MSEP -AND- Wishes, it would be very difficult (actually, unlikely) for the guest to be able to get from Town Square to the Hub in time to change viewing locations in time for the later events.

Well that's not good........:sad1: I guess I understand why the change was made :confused3............or do I :headache:

The change (and it it temporary) is necessary due to construction taking place
in the former (current) location.

We have watched the parade at this location then easily followed the end of the parade up main st. and got a great spot to see wishes. Make sure you get up and follow as soon as you see the end of the parade.

That makes me feel better.........I really like the spot in front of the Castle. Yeah it's unshaded :furious: but the view is great and you're right in the middle of the park...........easy to pick a direction and just go ;)

I used FP+ for both MSEP and Wishes tonight, January 13. MSEP even started late (they didn't say why; started about 8 minutes late IIRC). Anyway, it wasn't hard to walk from flagpole MSEP FP to tomorrowland terrace bathrooms, then to rose garden for wishes FP. Had some time before the castle lighting even. I think that started at 7:50. (MSEP was scheduled for 7pm and Wishes for 8pm.)

That said, it was a pretty low crowd level day. (Seems like plenty of people! But the crowd calendars say its low crowd.) There was one hour scheduled between MSEP and Wishes. If there were heavy crowds or less than an hour in between, I could see a problem.

Just wanted to add that the cm at msep FP said that MSEP lasts 18 minutes.

Exactly what I did. Highly recommend that technique.

thanks for that report-I was thinking that since the parade starts at Town Square area you could just follow the CM's as they take down the ropes and be the first ones to follow them down Main St. and get into a good viewing location.

I have a related question that I was hoping you or someone else can answer. How did you get from Tommorowland Terrace bathrooms to Rose Garden...do you have to go back to Main Street and past the hub, or do you go past the tomorrowland terrace into Tomorrowland?

I am asking because I had a fp for the MSEP, but we just got a reservation for BOG apprx 1 hour (9:20 pm) after the 8pm MSEP will finish passing Tony's Plaza at around 8:20. I don't want to fight the crowd to get to the castle, so i'm wondering if I can just cut through tomorrowland to hustle to fantasyland in an hour or if that's mission impossible.

basically I haven't been there in years, and the limits of the 2 dimensional park map won't let me know if one can use the tomorrowland terrace to move from main street towards tomorrowland, or are you limited to the spokes of the hub. I would think so but I'm trying to find some confirmation

From the flagpole, walk towards castle until the ice cream shop. Take a right (before the hub spoke that goes right). Leads you right to tomorrowland terrace cafe area. Follow that path to Tomorrowland. It will be congested to walk from there up to fantasyland, but way easier than going to the hub then right to tomorrowland.

Has anyone seen Festival of Fantasy in the Town Square location? Thoughts? As in, good spots to view (not crammed), well run like the hub was, etc...

I have. It's a fine parade-viewing location with plenty of room.

Train station platform is great for FoF; a different perspective that high up.

Eye level with the dragon!

Is this new FP location listed for specific dates? From now until ??
Just wondering since I have a trip around Easter, if those FP's (MSEP and FOF) will still be for that location?

That looks super cool! If you don't mind me asking, how early did you need to get there to have a good view?

That's a good question. I assumed so, as it said it on the fastpass screen last night when I was reserving for our Easter trip. But maybe hub construction will be done then... Hopefully someone will chime in soon.

Now until Hub construction allows a return there, presumably. No one here knows exactly when that will be, but my guess is the Hub location won't be ready by Easter.
