Maybe this is old news, but I didn't find it at all..

Construction has begun and new concept art has been released:

Wow, is it located on Bay Lake?

That looks awesome!!! Wow! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I am impressed... a litttle 'Lake Como-ish'.....when can I book??? :yay:

It's going to be on their Western Beltway property. Should be completed by '10 they say.

The Four Seasons will actually be located on the old Eagle Pines golf course which closed last year for this construction. The Western Beltway development will revolve around other 3rd party moderate class hotels. I am curious to see how well the FS does at Disney. Part of me is sad to see Disney bring in a third party to provide a true 5 star hotel in terms of service, but then again I love Four Seasons and I'm sure I'll find my way there at some point:goodvibes

I think Four Season's are amazing (we just recently in Jan stayed at the FS in Miami downtown) but it's not *Disney* enough for me!

Oh my, that concept art is gorgeous! Can't wait to see this resort in person.

I'm not familiar with the area. Is this closer to Epcot or MK? Are they partnering with Disney like Swan/Dolphin does?
I'm a huge Four Seasons fan, but I love the convinience of staying at a Disney Hotel.

The area is located in the vicinity of Ft. Wilderness, probably closer to Mk than Epcot. I dont recall the exact financials on the deal, but I seem to recall Disney is leasing the land to Four Seasons, although I would not be suprised if FS has to pay Disney a portion of revenues as well. There are also going to be private residences built as part of the complex. These lots have been de-annexed from the Reedy Creek Improvement District for sale by the development. Should be interesting to see how the development takes shape...

Wow! I didn't know there was a lake that big over in that area! Perhaps one will be built? Wonder if it would connect to Bay Lake? Either way, I would consider staying there! :scratchin

I agree. After seeing the concept art I can hardly wait!:hourglass

Considering how overpriced the Disney deluxe properties are, I can't even begin to guess what the rates for a FS there would be.
I'll start saving now. ;)

Great, thanks for clearing that up! I never spent too much time reading up about this, so I wasn't quite sure.

I believe it may actually be on Bay Lake, somewhere on the other side of the lake.

Guess I'm alone in not looking forward to having another outside company on Disney property. It's always rubbed me the wrong way when Disney sells off some of the property to outside company's. I'm not one to say "Walt wouldn't have wanted this", but in all honesty, I don't think he bought all that land with the intention of selling it off.

Boy, if WDW stuck with only "what Walt would have wanted", it wouldn't look anything like it does now. Would Walt really want a ticket price of $75 per person, including children? Would he have wanted lots of roller coasters and few, if any, new and truly innovative rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion. Would he have wanted the DinoLand at Animal Kingdom, which resembles nothing so much as a cheap traveling carnival? Would he have wanted buses driving all over property spewing black smoke, or would he have made the capital expenditures necessary to extend the monorail lines? Epcot doesn't even remotely resemble Walt's vision of an "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow".

Walt is dead. One needs only look at WDW to see that.
