From the Orlando Sentinal at 1:54 PM EDT 9/21/09 under the heading "Walt Disney World shakes up transportation management"...

"Kevin Lansberry, a vice president who had previously been in charge of transportation operations, will no longer have a role in transportation. He remains the vice president in charge of Disney's Animal Kingdom. And Disney has moved a former director of transportation operations to Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Resort as general manager there."

Will be interesting to see what this means.

I guess they had to blame someone jeese: 1 bomb scare and you're demoted or is it promoted to AKL and AKL lodge manager and the old guy got to be the Wilderness area manger.:cool2:popcorn::

I believe that if they're being sacrificed, then it would probably be for the monorail incident, too short of a time frame for a round of blame game for the bus incident.

This could be why the transportation shake up.

(NOTE: An earlier version of this story incorrectly described the tire-pressure monitor as newly designed. It was an old prototype that had been installed in 1998.)

The mysterious object found mounted on a Walt Disney World bus last week -- prompting the giant resort to temporarily shut down all bus service until the other vehicles were searched -- was an old tire-pressure monitor, Disney said Monday evening.

Disney spokeswoman Andrea Finger said the device was a prototype that had been installed in 1998 on a single bus to monitor tire pressure with wireless technology. Tire pressure can affect the fuel efficiency of a vehicle.

The device set off a mini-scare Thursday, when it was discovered by a maintenance crew that was unfamiliar with it. They reported a suspicious object to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, which called out a bomb squad to investigate.

Disney, meanwhile, opted to pull its entire bus fleet out of service until each of the roughly 300 vehicles was inspected. Thousands of Disney World visitors were stranded for a few hours while the buses were searched.

Finger said Disney made the decision to temporarily shut down its bus service before the mystery object was identified "out of an abundance of caution."

Kind of makes you feel all warm and fuzzy about the future of FW, doesn't it?

Any way you look at it, if you screw up at your job at Disney, there is always a place for you at the Fort.

I suppose it will depend on whether he is ticked off from being demoted from director to general manager, or if he is just happy to still have a job and willing to make the best of it...

Hopefully he will want to redeem himself and take the demotion as the opportunity to show Disney top management that he is worthy of being promoted again. Sometimes you need to take one for the team and fall on the sword. Maybe he will get back his status again.

What happens to Jean Gallagher?

Maybe this manager will listen to all of the complaints, and look into giving us a food court.

Will be interesting to see what this means.

1) This are not looking up.
2) During an advance informal get-to-meet-ya meeting, people were shot down.
3) Someone from the WL side made a terrible remark.
4) She said (in a nice way), "Now we can get some complaints and suggestions acted upon".
5) The answer (paraphrased), "I run the resort."
6) So much for good changes.

From Debdie's Thread about Breakfast Buffet at Trails End

What you get now is nowherenear as good as what you can get at Ponderosa for $3.99. Phyllis was our server (she's been there about 10 years and is as delightful as Ken). When we told her how disappointed we were, her first question was "Are you prone to writing letters?" Uhhhh.....YES I AM!!! So.... here's who you need to write to if you think T.E. buffets have turned to crap, and if you think a food court would better serve the guests at FtW & turn T.E. back to a full service restaurant.

I'm glad Jean's gone. Jean ran the Fort into the ground. When you get harassed over 18 blades of grass for 6 days and have to get your attorney involved and watch Jean come to your site at 11:30 p.m. to kiss your butt and upgrade you to a premium site for $25 / night was ridiculous.
