If you dont want to paint the camper we can put a thin black border around the print to seperate everything just think about it first once its painted its hard to go back!!! My motorcoach is black, silver, and gray and its hot as heck in the summer 3 acs to cool it down..... SO think about the black paint first.

I need to put my vote back in for going black. As I said (in the other thread, I think) a black car versus an identical white car in full sun with the windows up only got 9 degrees hotter. Unlike Moto's moho, you won't be riding in your pop-up, which is pretty much the only time it'll be in full sun. When set up, very little black would even be exposed to the sun given the foldout ends and awning. Even if you paint the roof black only about 1/2 of the set-up roof area is the hard shell, the rest is canvas. But, if you're really worried about it I'd just leave the roof white and paint the rest black, like I did in the first pre-vis, which I think still looks pretty good. Finally, Rog you already have a black cart and a black truck... did you get a warning sign to hang on either of those to warn you off of potential burns? I bet not. Do the panels of the cart warp and misalign when it's in the sun? I bet not. Hey, you've already 'smacked it up' and 'flipped it', you might as well 'rub it down'! LOL

Why don't you just do the best of both worlds here....if you are worried about the camper getting too hot and the sticker coming off, then get one of those little covers for it or a canvas thingy to park it under. That way you can have it black like you want it and the stickers will not get too gummy from the excessive heat, especially on the top like you were wanting the flames. Just an idea....

I keep my Trans Am covered and it unfortunately has to stay outside, much to my grief and anxiety. It has the anniversary decals on it and they last much longer in the elements with the cover on it.

What about when it's towed..any chance of it getting knicked up from road dirt. I'm just throwing it out there..I'm wondering if gravel..pebbles... road knicks... that type of thing would show more on black than it would on a lighter color. Then again..what do I know?..

For the pop-up the color of the box and the roof probably won't make an appreciable difference because the majority is canvas when it's up anyway. That being said, Shan's quote of a 9 degree difference could actually be very significant if you are already running close to load capacity of your air conditioning system. But again, this probably really only applies to a trailer or MH that is painted all black.

Love the artwork, and super job converting to vector Shan, and loving the graphic design lessons! I get people sending me stuff they snagged off the internet all the time asking if I can use it for their logos. Sorry folks - just 'cause it looks great on the screen, don't mean it'll print all spiffy and neat.

Whatever you decide about painting the camper, Rog - gotta send us a pic when it's all tricked out with this!

Regarding kc5grw's comment: Remember that 9 degree difference (according to the Mythbuster's 'scientific' test) was in a closed car. I'm sure the difference would have only been a degree or two if the windows were open. In a canvas and screen pop-up, the interior is going to stay much closer to the ambient temperature, like a car with windows open, than a black motorhome or trailer will. I like Jen's idea, get an EZ-Up and put it over the Pup and it will be cooler than a white Pup without, and you'll have more shelter.

The only thing that gives me pause is the idea of painting it using a Wagner sprayer... I used to have one and never got good results. I used the hammered metal spray paint because the texture does a great job of hiding imperfections (in the spray jobs and in the surface being painted). Maybe someone with vehicle painting experience can chime in? I've thought about doing a repaint of my moho and have a compressor and HVLP gun. Should one use enamel, or lacquer or something else. For prep do you have to sand or can deglosser do the job in conjunction with a good cleaning (maybe even with acetone)? What about primer? And can you do a clear coat over the decals to make them last longer? Inquiring minds want to know!

Ahhh, but you're making the assumption that the surface was properly prepared prior to painting. It could be that the decal comes off with the new paint.

Not enough posts to pm. How much do the decals cost. I'm interested in a few dif. ones. Are the any others. Also, Rog just made an awesome Dis Member sign for us The Hancocks and I was wondering if this could be made into a decal? Coming down from Illinois in Oct and want my new rv to look at home at FW.

Just curious..but how difficult is it to remove these decals..say should you want to sell the camper and potential buyers don't want it all Disneyfied?

Do not use Razor blades unless decal is on Glass and if On glass only a STAINLESS STEEL BLADE.
