I just read this on ocresort freedom blogging:
just a portion.…

For the last week of the Disneyland Halloween fireworks, guests can see the spooky projections that go along with the show on mist screens in the Rivers of America.
Previously, visitors could only see projected images and animated characters, including host Jack Skellington, on a 20-foot orb on top of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Guests in other parts of the park, besides Main Street U.S.A., could not see the projections. The characters do the narration and songs that go along with the plot of the “Halloween Screams” show.
Now, guests can also see the full effects on the mist screens that are usually used for the Fantasmic! show in Frontierland, said John McClintock, a Disneyland Resort spokesman.
…

Anyone see this yet? Or has it not started yet? How cool is this???

I saw it Saturday, the 24th. Hubby and I splurged for the first time and got the F! reserved seats and stayed to watch the fireworks (we weren't really staying for fireworks, were just wanting to avoid the crowds so were waiting for it to clear out). They popped up the misters almost as soon as the fireworks began. Was a nice surprise and bonus. The F! CMs around us all said they were surprised, it had never done that before, no one told them it was going to happen, etc. So, again, was a nice bonus. :-D I am sure they did it just for us, you know, being my birthday/anniversary trip and all...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

We heard about this, but have not seen it yet. It makes great sense, though. If people know that you miss out on part of the show if you watch the fireworks from the riverfront, more people will choose to watch the fireworks from Main Street, creating bigger crowds on Main Street because of sheer numbers. With the images being available also at the Riverfront, it spreads out the crowds. Yay for that! :wizard:

I'm not familiar with the orb on top of the castle. Do they project things on it for Christmas fireworks too?

No one knows for sure if it will...the orb on top of the castle looks like a full moon if you're standing along Main Street...they project images of Jack & Oggie Boggie on it during the Halloween fireworks...we'll just have to wait and see but I don't see the logic in having a Full Moon effect for the Christmas fireworks...

We had the F! reserved seating on Oct. 24 too! We had planned to watch the fireworks from our seats to avoid the crowds and thought we'd just see what we could of the fireworks but we got the best surprise with the mist screens and a great view of the fireworks and music. I would watch from ROA again in a heartbeat...it was a special treat! I hope they continue something similar for the Christmas holidays!

We watched Fantasmic on Friday the 23rd, and were told that that was the first night they were going to use the water projections during the fireworks. I think it's a great idea!
