Just returned home from Thanksgiving vacation at BWV and now I see what the fuss is about. Very nice! GREAT location and lots of non-stop action. I am an SSR owner and really enjoyed our stay there in March and will stay there again (if BWV is unavailable). We also visited VWL and ate lunch at Whispering Canyon. GREAT looking resort as well. Both resorts were well decorated for Christmas. We visited SSR and I was extremely underwhelmed with the Christmas decorations. Anyway, the short walk from BWV to Epcot and MGM is priceless! We enjoyed the entertainment on the Boardwalk as well (entertainers, dining, bars, and shopping). I do think the rooms and the pool at SSR are a bit nicer, and we enjoyed the short walk to DTD so I am not knocking SSR!!! As a matter of fact, I probably would NOT trade my SSR ownership for BWV due to the extra 10 years of usage. Simply put, I highly recommend staying at BWV for your upcomming vacation, especially during the Holiday season! PS- be sure to ask for a villa near the lobby (we had a very long hike to our room)

Glad you had a nice time! BWV is one of our DVC homes, and so is VWL for that matter!

Bobbi :)

PS. Some people prefer the long walks, those rooms tend to be quieter. Did you find that to be the case?

Awesome! It makes me really long for our first trip home! I can't believe we're waiting until September!

It's one of the best kept secrets;) , glad you enjoyed your visit. We liked our room near the stairs, quick access to the pools.

Glad to read how much you enjoyed BWV's. I love it too- The easy walk to Epcot is great! :cool1:

Did you have a Boardwalk View? Did you get a chance to dine at any of the Boardwalk restaurants?

We had a standard view; however, nothing standard about it! We had a perfect view of illuminations and could see a bit of fantasmic also. We picked up breakfast from the bakery on 2 mornings-yum. We ate at Spoodles on Thanksgiving night (food was good but not great). I ate the new york strip (ok) and my wife had the salmon (very good). Kids ate traditional Thanksgiving meal that was very good. I had several brew haa haas from Big River (i give a BIG thumbs up to the rocket red and seet magnolia). Best meal to me was at Liberty Tree. Tepanyaki in Japan was very good, as was our Dinasorous breakfast at AK.

Try the BW View sometime also-very nice. :thumbsup2

Glad you loved BWV, that's why I bought there.

Ah great, we have someone telling everyone how great BWV is. Come on, don't you know we want to keep it quite, tell everyone how bad the long hall ways are so they'll stay somewhere else. :rolleyes1

Glad you had a great time at BWV for Thanksgiving! We'll be staying in a 2-bedroom Boardwalk View villa for Christmas! We can't wait!!! :dance3:

I own at OKW and SSR, i like all the resorts but stay at board walk in a one bedroom with board walk view most of the time. I know BCV is very popular but if you take out the pool , not as nice as BWV. i feel even a standard view at BW is better then BC.

i have a new (resale) at bwv but have not stayed there yet. we love bcv, but i agree that the views are not great. the pool is fantastic!!! i think we just fell in love with that entire area from epcot to mgm and everything in between. :goodvibes

we own a ssr but don't really have a desire to stay there, i am sure that our feeling about that will change after our first stay there. but next fall we will be at bwv and can not wait. wonder how that pool is, anybody know? :smickey:

Just wanted to chime in with excitement... leaving a week from today for BWV one-bedroom with BW view! We got married on the Boardwalk and honeymooned at BWI, and this will be our first time back at the Boardwalk resort.

My late mom and I stayed at BWV in early December from 2000 to 2004. I loved those trips. Not only the resort but the whole Christmas atmosphere. I really missed it the last 2 years. I'm thinking I need to plan a trip for next year.

Just made my room reservation for BWV yesterday for late June. My first DVC trip, can't wait! We have stayed at the Yacht Club three times and loved the location.
