We'll be visiting in early/mid May when crowds should be fairly low.

Wondering what the general thought is on when it's best to go to New Fantasyland. We haven't been on SDMT (hoping for FP+s for that, of course) or seen any of the interactive queues yet either...

Is first thing in the am best?
Or around 2-4 pm when the little ones should (ideally) be napping in their respective strollers and/or hotels?

Yes...first thing is best. Hit Mine Train immediately at rope drop, then things that will have longer waits as the day goes on (Peter Pan, Pooh, Enchanted Tales, Cinderella/Rapunzel M&G, etc)

If you are doing MK on multiple mornings plan to be here until about 11 or 12, then head over to Splash/Thunder where you have your FP+ waiting for you after lunch.

In the 43 years that WDW has been open, there has never been a lull in the action between 2-4 when little ones should (ideally) be napping.. Parents just keep pushing ahead, trying to get the most out of every day. Indeed, it is worse now than ever before. Instead of a lull in the mid-afternoon, what you will see and hear are a choir of cranky kids who should be napping, but who are not. Earlier is better when it comes to WDW.

It might not be until 9pm that waits dramatically drop
(This is a busier Thanksgiving crowd)

More similiar, On June 3rd, little Mermaid was 50 min posted at 3:45pm

I have used touring plans on several occasions and they tend to be fairly accurate. They actually bump their projected wait timers up against posted times as well as actual wait times provided by folks in line that day. My guess is give them 10-15% wiggle room either way on their predictions.

We're going in mid-May and have also never done 7DMT as we had to cancel our trip last year. I've been going to Disney my whole life and have helped many friends plan their rips but I'm feeling like a fish out of water with 7DMT and the whole FP+ planning!
