Hi,
We have a reservation for next week and I was wondering if anyone here has done it, or read anything new about it.
Thanks

I did this last week and I did not enjoy most of the desserts on the tray. My favorite was the cheesecake. With that being said, there was an unlimited beverage bar with Hot Cider, Hot Cocoa, mint marshmellows etc that in itself made the price of the dessert package worth it. Our priorty seating was awesome and that we could stay and watch fireworks afterward I will most definitely do this again.

If you do the Hungry Bear dessert package, seating is in front of the Haunted Mansion... we had a very good view, close to the front railing. They begin seating at 8 15pm , we got there alittle after that.

We did it in March and it was amazing. Loved it. The dessert tray was more than myself or my 9yo son could handle. We nibbled on them the rest of the trip.

Just so you know, things have changed completely since March. Just this month, Disney instituted fastpass for Fantasmic. There are now Fantasmic dining options as well, and OP was asking about the new Fantasmic dessert party at the Hungry Bear. The previous Fantasmic dessert service with seating in chairs during Fantasmic has been discontinued.

I loved the reserved area for the dessert party at the back of the Hungry Bear restaurant. They have musicians playing music and the servers were very attentive. You were offered a to go box to take leftovers and a to go cup to enjoy a hot beverage while waiting for the show. The value of this package is now you get 2 people for the price of 1 of the old seating price!! Yes, you are sitting on the ground but at least not 4 hours ahead of time.

Can you clarify a little about the location of the viewing area? When you say "in front of the Haunted Mansion" do you mean way over so that you basically looking at the left side of the island instead of the end?

This map is out-of-date (it was based on the areas the first weekend), but the area in front of the HM would be the red section on the left. The Dessert Party viewing area (at that time) was between the Blue Bayou and Gold FP areas (in front of the oddly shaped gold area).

On your map it looks like we were in the blue area. The red area far left was for regular fast pass and it was standing room only, no one was sitting.

Can anyone share photos or describe what the desserts are? And, if Hungry Bear is closed, will they still be doing this? thinking about trying it out on Feb. 13th, but I think all of Critter Country is closed. :confused3

Does anyone have pictures/descriptions of the desserts offered?

Also, is it a buffet-style or are the desserts pre-plated (similar to the boxes with the old package)?

Sometime in the last day or so I think I read someone's comment on another thread or maybe this one that the dessert party wouldn't be offered during the Critter Country closure.

This makes sense to me; I looked on Disneyland.com and none of the dates from now through February are showing up as having a Dessert Party (albeit no dates show up March for any of the F! packages, so who knows if the lack of dates in Feb for the dessert parties mean anything in the end :rotfl:).

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Disneyland hotel for one night a couple weekends ago and we didn't arrive in the park until later in the day on Saturday (all the FP for F! were gone). So we talked about doing one of the dining packages but weren't looking to spend a crazy amount of money, we walked over to hungry bear to check out the dessert party option. Brandon was the CM who helped us and he explained to us how the dessert party works, the party for the first showing of F! was already going on so we opted to do the party for the 2nd showing. Which started at 9 and ended around 10:15 (when they open up the seating area for the dessert party). I was a little bummed because I was planning on watching the fireworks from Main Street. Brandon heard me mention that we would be missing fireworks and he said "no you won't I can get you a balcony seat perfect for firework viewing". So that sold us, dessert, hot cocoa, firework viewing, AND special fantasmic viewing! What a deal!

They gave us a front table with perfect view of the fireworks, it might be my new favorite place to watch fireworks. It's really secluded, nothing is blocking your view, and you're not smashed in with hundreds of other people on main street.

As for the dessert itself, I loved all the things they gave us. It is not buffet style they bring it to you on a plate. There was a piece of opera cake, cheesecake, chocolate truffle, layered chocolate cake, and a white chocolate mickey.

My boyfriend is kind of picky when it comes to desserts so he didn't like a lot of his, it all depends on the person. But it was still worth it just for the hot chocolate and the viewings. It made our whole weekend.

I'm curious as to where this balcony was. Was it just for F! dessert package people? I'm already doing a BB dining package, but this might be a great back up. And, from how you're describing it, it might be worth it just for the fireworks show itself.

Thanks everyone! :thumbsup2

And thanks princesshalo22! Loved your description! Makes me want to try it next time when it's available. Kinda bummed they didn't at least move the dessert offering to another temporary location while Critter Country is closed. Oh well. Next time!!
