What does everyone think about the new extra hours policy for the Theme parks? We just got back from our latest stay (loved it as usual), and went to the one in EPCOT. I feel that there wasn't enough open. We were hoping that the countries would be open so that we had the time to browse. The only two countries that were open were the ones with rides. My son did MK uintil 3 AM and loved it. I hope this will continue though, as it gives resort guests more time in the parks with less lines. This service is free as the Disney people felt they made enough money in sales and food to not have to charge for this. :earsboy:

that you are staying on site. Do you have to leave the park and re -enter that park after they close for everyone else? and are the pretty strict about after hours that you must prove you are staying one site? I am staying at the pop century. May 2- 7th. I know that the parks are going to be every busy at this time and plan on use the early moring and late night hours.

You have to show your room key card at one of the many places available in the park or at the gate and they put a bracelet on you. Then, the cast members in the park check for it.

We really enjoyed it in MK. The night we did EMH there in February we felt like we had the park to ourselves. It was wonderful! MGM wasn't as good. There just isn't as much to do at that park. As soon as Fantasmic let out everybody headed to RNRC and TOT. Huge waits. We ended up doing Little Mermaid and shopping and leaving after about an hour. AK didn't stay too long since we had already been there most of the day and the crowds had been really low. We saw the Lion King and left. It looked like it would have been nice however since crowds appeared to be really low. In the future we might try to just get to AK late, do the Safari before the park closes and then stay and do the other things during EMH. Epcot, total disaster the night we went since Test Track was down the whole time and then Mission Space went down too. Like you, we just didn't have enough to do. If we could have ridden TT a few times it would have been great however since it is our favorite ride there and the reason we did EMH that night anyhow.

Free? They never let me do this! Oh wait, I have to stay onsite. Ok, I admit it, I'm just jealous ;). My friends and I are daytrippers. It's just hard to justify the money to stay onsite when my own bed is only two hours away. And you live in Titusville, which is closer. But extra hours do sound fun. They sure know how to reel us in!

We do live close but we belonged to the DVC when we lived in NY. So now we get to take advantage of that in spades, YAHOO!!! Like you we do often go over for the day though, but we try to manage a couple of week long stays. There is nothing better than laying by the pool with no pressure because you know you can always come back anytime. :earboy2:

So...does anyone know WHEN resort guests get this bracelet? Is it sometime during the day @ the listed areas? On the DIS Park Hours pg, it sd this...

Wristbands distributed no earlier than two hours before the park closes to the general public at the following locations:

Castle Hub
Caribbean Plaza
Riverboat Landing
Seven Dwarf's Mine
Timekeeper Entrance

Does the general public mean RESORT GUESTS or is there more to this than I know?

TIA!
Veolette

I have a question - are campground guest allowed in EMH? Could someone "rent" a campsite for 1 night to take advantage of the emh?

Ft. Wilderness guests are allowed access to EMH, but each person would have to have a Ft. Wilderness guest pass in order to take advantage of EMH.

I guess not, bcuz I'm looking at the preliminary dates for June and I was thinking that one park would have an Early day for each day of our stay.
For some reason, I was thinking the last time (long time ago) we stayed @ WDW, we got to get into some park everyday early.
The way this looks is that the days have EITHER an early day OR an evening extended hour.
???
Does this sound like the jest of it?

Thanks,
Veolette
