New Every Two with Verizon?

Anyone know how this works? Our two year contract with Verizon is almost up, and we plan to stick with them, but I have no clue on how the New Every Two program works. Any help is appreciated.

Verizon will give you a credit for a new phone "equipment". The credit is contingent upon what type of phone you currently have. We have the more expensive phones and we usually get about $125-150 credit per phone. Then you apply that to a purchase of a new phone. You can end up getting a decent phone for free or paying an extra 50-100 for a nice one.

We have to do this soon as well and I think that I am going to make the jump and go to a Blackberry (I so need the organization!) My sister received a $100 credit for her phone recently and it was the cheapest you could get when she originally got it.

Go to verizonwireless.com and log into your account. Under the picture of your phone is a link that says upgrade your phone. Next you'll need to select the phone # you want to upgrade. It will tell you if you're eligible for the new every two discount yet and it will display a list of the phones and prices under the plan. It ended up being cheaper for us to upgrade from the website than it would have been through our local verizon store. I got my new phone free (really basic phone) and my daughter saved $100 from the store price. We got the new every two credit and more off for renewing our contract for another two years. They mailed us the phones and we activated them online. Easy as could be. We actually were able to do this about 2 months before our contract was up.

Is this something *all* Verizon customers get or is it a special part of your plan??? My boyfriend has had his current phone for about 4 years and is deperate for a new one at a reasonable price. We've never heard of this before.
