Hey, Girl heyyyy. The name is Tiffany. I am fairly new here just browsed never commented or posted anything. A little about my self im a 26 year old who loves adventures and travel. I have not been to Disney world since i was 2 yea, lonnnnnngggg time ago. I am trying to figure out the best way to go about going with my 7 year old daughter on December 1st-December 15th 2014 with the first stop being Universal studios for 3 nights.Cause let's face it I am the biggest nerd at heart, therefore I have been wanting to go to HARRY POTTER for forever. :offtopic:

Everyone on this board sold Disney World to me like the whole thing the deluxe dining plan and the castle I just can't wait I am also trying to find out a way to surprise the daughter. The only places she has gone so far is Sea world, the zoo, wild animal park, and Knott's berry farm. She needs to feel the magic, as do I. So if yall can help a VEGAS native with some ideas and how to go about reservations for dining and what are the best cheap resorts cause let's face it im a single mother who has bills too. Thanks :thumbsup2

I am going to send you to The Theme Park Strategy Board

Welcome to the Disboards! :welcome:

check out this site:
www.easywdw.com

Particularly, check out:
1. Crowd calendar (to tell you which day to go to which park)
2. Cheat sheets (to tell you how to plan each day in the park)
3. Restaurant reviews, to tell you where to eat (he breaks it down by park, and ranks the restauran)

Also, make your dining reservations ASAP at Disneyworld.com

Also, keep checking disboards.com for updates on Fastpass+, as this could really change how you plan for this trip (it may or may not be available for you, a timeframe has not been announced).

Lastly, this is a great place to ask particular, detailed questions about anything Disney World.

Welcome, Tiffany.

I want to encourage you to read through some trip reports. You can pick up a lot that way. Also remember that you can never do EVERYTHING; BUT everything you do will be fun.

Have a great trip!!

Welcome to the DIS!

I agree with the suggestion about easywdw, it is a great place to find information. It also sounds like a guidebook might be helpful, too, I like the Unofficial Guide.

There are many things to do during the holiday season, think about if you want to incorporate these into your plans. For example, the Christmas Party at MK (MVMCP), Osborne Lights at HS, Candlelight Processional and Storytellers at Epcot.

You say you are going in the beginning of December with the Deluxe Dining Plan? You should start to work on making reservations for the table service restaurants you want to go to very soon. ADRs for that time frame opened up in early June, and the DxDP makes more sense if you use the credits on a majority of TS restaurants.

Just wanted to point out the OP said 2014, not 2013, so ADRs won't open up until next June (2014). :)

Well, Tif ( :welcome: ) you've been lurking for a year, so you've had a chance to see the good and the bad.

Feel free to keep asking questions after you read all the stickies.

I will say that's my favorite time of year to go, but be prepared for temperatures anywhere from the 30's to the 70's.

You have plenty of time to plan. Get a copy of the Unofficial Guide and read it ..study it. I would suggest using Dreams Unlimited travel to assist you in your planning effort. They will make it easy and assist in dining reservations as well as look for discounts when you don't have time to. They also provide information and advice as you go along. And stay right here with us to check out all the latest info and advice doled out here.

Tiffany, I am going to make a suggestion from my own "Been there, done that" file.

_I_ would not surprise your daughter. Let her be part of the planning and the excitement. Let her watch WDW vacation videos with you.

Years ago I took kids that had never been on a surprise visit. It did not go well. the kids had no idea what they wanted to do once there and were completely overwhelmed.

As you'll see over and over on this board, DIS members love to plan our next trips and help others in doing so!

Hi tiffandhaileywdwluvr. Danny, Brian and Reid welcome you to the TPAS DIS board :wave2:

We are a friendly and knowledgeable bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet the DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

Note that questions regarding WDW parks should be posted on this board.
There are also boards for Disney Resorts, Disney Restaurants/Dining and Universal where questions on these topics should be posted on these other boards :goodvibes
