Still 35,000 without power in NH It's going to be a rough weekend for the crews that are out.
Apparently a tree fell on a school bus yesterday afternoon, as it was bring kids home. No one was hurt, but what a way for those middle schoolers to start their weekend
The wind has picked up a bit (but nothing compared to yesterday). This is ice fishing derby weekend on the lake in my town, and the people on the lake were getting stuck in the middle of little snow tornados when I drove by this morning. On top of the pine needles that are now down all over (and branches), there's also a nice coating of ice from the squall that moved through earlier

We got some wind, but nothing too major. No snow (which we need). I hope all is well for everyone south!

DH worked 24 hours and got home this AM. He is going back in tonight after getting some shut eye...geeze some of the poles around here snapped like toothpicks he said. At one point he was fixing a line and the thing snapped right next to his head...I hate when he tells me this stuff!

I am in the Lakes Region, and it is very cold. Last night we lost our electric from 4:30 p.m. until 10 pm. Good thing we have our woodstove. The winds were pretty bad, but I didnt' notice any damage to anything.

DBF said watching them snap was amazing...and the same thing- toothpicks!

He's not coming home tonight, from the sounds of things. He's still in the New London- Newbury area, and seems that was one of the hardest hit areas. Thankfully the wind has died down some- to 30-40 mph gusts, from the 60 yesterday....Last time I talked to him, he said "see ya tomorrow night"...sounds like it'll be awhile before he gets done.
