New England Patriots Fans...

when my friend was insulted for wearing her yankee hat lst november .. it just shows what there like.

Your friend got exactly what she was looking for. Give me a break. I wouldn't wear my RedSox garb to Yankee Stadium and NOT expect some comments and ribbing. Frankly- considering our long rivalry I wouldn't wear my Red Sox hat to the state or NY and not expect some comments.

I'm sure this could have happened at any game at any stadium!!!!!!!
wow what a classless bunch of folks at the stadium today. Favre just got carted off the field with what might be a broken jaw and the Patriots fans were booing him. Un-friggin-believable!!!

So what about the Yankee fans who spit on women? (and one of them happened to be Cliff Lee's wife) Are they perfect? I don't think so. And the Jets fans who yelled at female fans to lift their shirts? Nice gentlemen? again, I don't think so.

I've known it all along new england and boston in general... It's just a classless area.

Boston and all of New England is a classless area because of your friends one experience wearing a Yankees hat at Fenway? Interesting. :rolleyes1

Wait a tic... :checks thread title to make sure it's the right team... yep, it is:... Unbelievable? Really? Because this is Patriot fans we're talking about here. The only fans that rival them for sheer unmitigated *********gery are the Saints and Eagles fans.

Wait a minute...Saints fans??? Have you ever been to a game in New Orleans? Saints fans are notorious for partying with and welcoming the opposing teams' fans. We were in the French Quarter on Sunday and had a good old time with all of the Steelers fans visiting.

Sounds like the reputation we get in Philly. A few people throw batteries at JD Drew, and every year the story expands. In a few years it will be the entirety of the stadium who threw them, along with people standing outside the stadium throwing them over the walls! :rotfl:

I also heard Philly ran out a future Hall of Fame QB.

I hope you aren't talking about the guy who is now going to get replaced in Washington by JaMarcus Russell??!?!? Hall of Fame? I just spit my coffee all over my desk.

August 2009, DD14 and myself were taking the boat from the Beach Club to the Studios. The CM was talking sports over the intercom and asked where people were from. DD raised her hand and said Boston.

CM proceeded to trash talk all Boston sports teams and lead the other people in booing us. DD and I just laughed.

My sister travels for work. When she was in NY, other employees were trash talking her for being a Red Sox and Patriot's fan.

So it is a two way street on trash talking. Should I say all NY fans and everyone on the boat with us was horrible because of it? Nope, that is life.

The Yankee/Red Sox rivalry is well known. Wearing gear in the enemy territory is asking for comments.

The guys on ESPN seem to disagree with you!

ESPN...again I laugh. :rotfl::rotfl:

The Network that is responsible for pretty much ruining all of the Professional sports? I'll stick to the opinions of people who aren't spouting an agenda for pure entertainment purposes. :thumbsup2

And which one of them says McNabb will be replaced by Jamarcus?

Oh I don't think anyone is saying 100% that Russell is replacing McNabb (especially since it sounds like he's not quite fit), but the #5 experiment in Washington is certainly already in its twilight, regardless of who it is.

There is nothing in McNabb's resume that points to him being a guaranteed Hall of Famer. He has always been woefully inaccurate (balls thrown into the ground account for a vast majority of his incomplete passes). His fear of throwing interceptions also accounted for a number of balls thrown away, instead of attempting to thread the ball to his receiver. Good quarterbacks in history aren't afraid of their stats all the time and will attempt the hard pass in order to advance the team.

The fact that he didn't understand simple rules about the game he played (Overtime anyone?) meant he never grew into the leadership role that a quarterback needs to play. Most of his former teammates found him goofy and childish, although anything Freddie Mitchell said about him I'm willing to dismiss ;) .

So we have a guy who couldn't run a 2-minute drill properly, couldn't lead from his position, could never make the risky play or even attempt it, was horribly inconsistent with his throws his entire career, and never pulled off the big win. Not what I'd call HoF material.

For all the negatives you list he's also done a lot of amazing things like helping to revolutionize the QB position.

How so? And please don't say by being a rushing quarterback because Tarkenton, Young, Cunningham, Staubach and a host of others did that long before Donovan did.

So I'd like to know what he did to "revolutionize" the position?

Cunningham was amazing but DM took it 1 step further. Now it's almost expected that a QB can at the very least escape the pocket.

It's always been expected that a QB should escape the pocket. Elway rushed for 200+ yards for 8 consecutive years (11 total times). Steve Young had rushed for over 400 yards in 4 different seasons before McNabb even made it to College.

I think you're giving McNabb far too much credit for something that was being done long before he was on the scene. In fact people like Marino, Young, Cunningham were doing it in the late 80's-early 90's. I would say they were the ones who revolutionized the position so that running QB's like McNabb were more likely to get noticed.

They definitely started it but IMO, McNabb took it even further. I don't really think Marino and Young compare to Cunningham in the running aspect of the position. They were agile and quick athletes with mobility but lets not exaggerate it. The trend of running QBs really took hold after McNabb took the limelight though.

The "trend" you see only seems to have come with McNabb because all of the guys who were coming out of College with him, and immediately after him, grew up watching all of the guys I just mentioned. Along with the fact that a lot of College coaches were changing their offenses in order to mimic the success the running quarterbacks were having in the NFL during the 80's-early 90's. In other words the Cunninghams, the Youngs, the Marinos, the Elways changed the game in such a way that it produced the McNabbs and Vicks.

You keep mentioning Young, Marino, Elway. Those guys guys were not the same runners that Cunn and McN were. Cunn and McN had a run first mentality. Young, Marino, Elway made their livings through the air which is why they have a lot of the passing records.
