Just checked DVCmember.com and saw that new categories are available for the DVC Golf Membership. We can now book early tee times at a discount too! Before 10:00 AM it's $20 more than the after 10:00 prices with the discount. So instead of an early morning tee time costing $159 in May it is only $55. I just changed my 10:40 tee time in May to 7:50 which means I will have 3 more hours of "family time" and much nicer cooler weather.
The new prices are:
Pricing per round
Before 10 am/ After 10 am
Peak Season Rounds
Jan 21, 2008 - Apr 25, 2008
$109/ $89
Value Season Rounds
Apr 26, 2008 - Sept 30, 2008
$59/ $39
Fall Season Rounds
Oct 1, 2008- Jan 20, 2009
$79/ $59

Late tee times are the #1 complaint about the DVC Golf Membership and this change will make the $50 membership cost much more attractive. For $20 bucks more, I can now play without the dirty looks from my wife when I run off during valuable Disney "prime time".
This is yet another reason why DVC was the best decision I made since marrying my disney obsessed wife! Keep those perks coming!!!

P.S. After checking my tee time I also noticed the later reservation stayed at the original price($35) . So I hope that computer glitch pans out!

:lmao: I had to laugh at this because I would be the wife giving the dirty looks!

How did you check your reservation? I called our reservation in a few weeks ago for 5/8--can I find it somewhere? Thanks very much! Deb

Great News! Thanks for sharing. Everyone in this house is happy to hear about the early tee times!

Go to the main disney golf page and go to book a tee time, then view upcoming reservations

So because I'm feeling way too lazy this morning to even try to figure this out myself, which is the better deal. The AP 30% discount or the DVC membership discount? This is assuming he will golf maybe only 2-3 times in a given year on the DVC membership.

I think that even with the $50 cost of the Membership card, the DVC membership rate is better than the AP 30% discount (unless he plays LBV all the time-since that's the least expensive, the 30% discount may be about the same). Since DH sees WDW as a golf resort, which happens to have theme parks to keep the non-golfer entertained, this is very exciting news.

In my case, I am paying $59 plus the $50 membership fee=$109. The annual pass rate would be $159 * 0.7 = $111.30. So it pays for itself in the first player 1st round.
Up to 4 players could play with one card which could save $350 in one round!

After reading it pays for itself in 1 round, I'll tell my husband. But to him the real plus will be the earlier tee time. He's up and out the door in the morning so he didn't love waiting for the later slot. I might even throw him a bone and mention he should golf twice on our next vacation. He'll say :yay:

when can i start to book tee times
at the 180 day / 120 day / 90 day mark
DH has the DVC membership card

90 days or less depending on time of year...check dvcmember.com under wdw perks and the chart is there.

thanks only another 80 days to go to I can start to book

Thanks! My DH likes early tee times. He'd be out there at dawn if they'd let him. He chafed a bit at the post-10 AM times last fall.

When I am looking at the Perks on dvcmember.com, I do not see that this applies to all of the courses. It looks like only applying to Oak Trail?

Where did you see the info specfically? Did you book off the Disney golf page and select the DVC golf membership?

I'm up for some discounts!!!!

According to the member site the Vacation Club golf rates for the value season (4/26/08 to 9/30/08) are $59 before 10am and $39 after 10am, so I guess the $20 upcharge to play before 10am does apply to all the courses.
I then went to the golf site and made a reservation for 10am in May and the rate showed as $35 for DVC golf members, and when I made a reservation for 7am the rate was $59, sounds like the golf site doesn't know about the $39 rate per the member site.
I'll pay the additional $20 or $24 to play before 10am.
Now I'd like to see them bring back the free club rentals they had a couple of years ago.

   The earlier t-times are great news for our family! DH hated those late t-times during the summer!;)

DW is NOT going to like this. She was always opposed to an early tee time when she played. Something about an uncivilized time of day or some such. I guess when she plays I'll still have to do after 10, but when she sits out she may be happier if I play earlier.

I agree that the DVC Golf Membership is one of the greatest perks we have. Our last membership had about 32 rounds on it in the one year period. That was $50.00 well spent.
