Do we know yet if the new Polynesian tower will be considered part of home resort booking for Poly owners?

We do not yet know whether it will be in the same association or a new one.

Is it possible it could end up as part of a new group with Riviera? Or would it need to be an entirely new resort for that to happen?

Possibilities:
1a) Similar to VGF2 being added to existing VGF association. Existing Poly association, expires 2066 or whatever. Existing Poly owners get home resort advantage at the new resort; new buyers get home resort advantage at existing Poly studios/bungalows.
1b) Similar to CCV being separate from BRV at Wilderness Lodge. New Poly association, expires 2075 or whatever. Existing Poly owners do not get home resort advantage at the new resort; new buyers do not get home resort advantage at existing Poly studios/bungalows. Riviera-like resale restrictions very likely.

XX) Poly2 added to an existing non-Poly association (e.g., Riviera). Riviera (or whatever) owners get Poly2 home resort advantage and vice versa. I suppose it's technically possible but unprecedented and absurdly unlikely.

There's been some spirited discussions about 1a vs. 1b here, but we just don't know yet.

If you mean could Poly2 and RIV end up trading via a Buena Vista Trading Company v.2, separate from the current BVTC, I believe it’s legally possible, assuming that Poly2 is a separate condominium association from Poly1. If DVCMC did that, I’d think they’d put the new VDH condominium association in it too, so those 3 resorts could swap with each other.

The only piece is that RIV has already entered BVTC with an agreement that allows it to trade amongst the other DVC resorts with qualified points..direct…

While that could be amended, I think its more likely that they will treat both VDH and Poly tower like RIV…add it with trading rights to all…plus it has already been stated It will be another DVC resort, so that implies they intend to keep it as part of the mix.

Oh definitely, I was just saying it was possible, not that it was likely.

The only way to bring the points per night for bungalows down is to bring in one and two bedrooms to absorb the points since studios can’t take the burden. When compared to Copper Creek cabins points chart the bungalows are way too over inflated and imho much nicer than the bungalows

The Grand Villa at the Grand Floridian is cheaper than the Bungalows. Enough said.

No idea yet- but as an owner, I’m probably in the minority, but hoping it’s separate. I have no interest in that tower and bought there for the studios. It’s pretty easy to get them because there are so many, and I don’t want to compete at the 11 month window with a bunch of new owners. We all know studios are the most in demand rooms at every resort.
