After 8 years of consideration, we just signed our first DVC contract! Yay!!

Question for all of your AP experts. We have a regular (non DVC) AP that is expiring, and we would like to renew. I'm wondering if we will get the "DVC renewal price", or just the regular DVC AP price? Technically I am renewing my AP, but since it was not a DVC AP, I'm not sure how that works. Any experience with this sort of thing?

If you have your DVC member ID card then you can get the DVC renewal.
PS
Welcome Home.

Thanks! We bought 200 points at SSR. We were on a Disney Dream cruise, and we decided to pull the trigger. So happy we did!!

You bought a 200 point SSR contract direct? You might want to read over your contract and see if you can rescind the purchase. Buying on the resale market could save you over $10,000.

If you bought direct from Disney for SSR you overpaid. SSR can be bought resale for $80-$90 per point. If it's withing 10 days you can recind your contract and go with a resale

Thanks, but we already explored the resale option outside of Disney. We did our homework for 8 years. It was more important to us to be able to book vacations outside of the WDW resorts with our points, so resale outside of Disney wasn't an option. But thanks for your input!

Congrats and welcome home!!
You made the decision for you and your family and that is what matters. I have always bought resale, but my friends that introduced me have always bought direct. And they continue to even after I gave them the resale info. You have to be comfortable with your choice, which you are and good for you.
Enjoy and look forward to having you as a neighbor, we also own at SSR.
