New DVC Member When/Where to Buy PAP's?

We are new to DVC and are going "home" to SSR in April for 10 days!! We have decided to buy Premium Annual Passes as we plan to use them again for a Feb. trip next year! When and where should we buy these passes? Should we wait until we arrive at SSR or purchase them before our trip? Is it less expensive one way or the other? Thanks!!

You can't buy them at the resort. You can either order them in advance or buy them when you arrive at the theme parks. Either way you'll pay the same price. And, even if you buy in advance, you will only get a voucher and still need to stand in the ticketing line at WDW to exchange the voucher for an activated AP.

If you have any interest in buying the DDE dining discount card (see other threads for description), you'll probably want to order in advance. My understanding is that you will need an ID number off of the pre-purchase voucher in order to get the DDE card.

If DDE isn't of any interest, just keep the money in the bank and buy when you arrive. Just make sure you have your blue member ID available in order to get the discount pricing.

If you're staying at SSR, you can bop on over to DD and buy them at the Guest Services office. That's what we did and it worked great---no lines. HTH

Thanks for the info - we will probably hop over to DD and do this after we check in! Can we also buy a Magic Your Way ticket for my niece there? She will not need an Annual Pass as this is probably her "one and only" trip to Disney. A 16th b. day present from us!

Yes. But if you wait until you arrive to buy the ticket, you will pay more than if you buy in advance. The "gate" prices (which apply to resort and DD purchases) are higher than advance prices.
