Okay just logged into spg and checked my ressie.
room description says redesigned room with a fresh contemporary look limited view. It does say annual passholder rate. Does limited view sound right for the one category upgrade?

Also anyone have a room number or floor I should add to my ressie. This is for the Swan by the way. Thanks

When I stayed at the Dolphin recently, I could NOT upgrade to the CL level with points, UNLESS I would agree to switch my balcony room to a CL level room. This is what I was told at the front desk. However, when I came back I found others who had stayed on a different floor WITH CL privledges! (Huh??)

really? when I went to check-in, I asked for a comp upgrade to CL (I am SPG Gold) and was told comp upgrades are for SPG Plat. I was then politely told that I had more than enough points to get CL priv and keep my room. It was late in the afternoon, and she even offered that I could start the CL priv the following day.

of course, I had 5 in a room an wasn't charged extra, either.

I think it's a question of who you talk to...and when you talk to them:confused:

Mom Poppins...

From what I have gathered over on Flyertalk, award rooms (including cash & points) will always be eligible for upgrades. They are only cracking down on "third party reservations". I have had just incredible success with upgrades on cash & points awards. Are you counting on Cash/points for your Disney trip or are you planning some other trip? Just curious...

My DH is racing again next weekend in San Antonio. I'm trying to leave the kids with Grandma and use some Starpoints for a Westin Riverwalk free night. Wish me luck!!

Debbie ~ Good luck on your stay in San Antonio. As I have said before it is our favorite close to home place to vacation. I am going to try and use cash and points for part of my stay in February if they are available. Your trip looks to be very close to mine. :wave2: Let me know how your trip to SA goes :)

I have a trip already reserved for next summer in SA. 2 nights at La Cantera Westin and 4 nights at the Hyatt Hill Country resort. :hyper:

Mom Poppins~ We stayed at the Swan this past July on "cash and points" - I booked a standard King room. I received a comp upgrade to a Jr. Suite - I am Gold level not Plat. We were offered CL privileges (no change of room to CL floor) for $50 a night. We turned down the CL offer. I had enough points for 3 of our 4 nights and the 4th night was booked on my teacher rate. Upon checking my bill on the flight home, I was charged the resort fee only for the 4th night. A "suite" deal indeed!!!

I am attending another conference in Boston the first week of November and I am presenting a seminar for the conference hosts. As a presenter, I receive complimentary hotel accomodations. I booked the Westin Copley Place as it was one of the conference's hotel choices. :Pinkbounc Trying hard to rack up points!!!!!

We've got FIRE raging everywhere out here. So very Sad...so many homes destroyed and so many people left devastated. It's just so difficult to believe. :worried:

Mouseteacher~Keep sending prayers and thoughts of RAIN our way...we need it desperately. Thank you, always, for your sincere kindness and generous spirit.

Zwife~You've been on my mind and in my thoughts. Keep well, and shower your family with the TLC & MAGIC which is "YOU" (AKA: MOM MAGIC!). ;)

Shelly~That Jr. Suite rate does NOT sound correct. IT's closer to $192.00 (under $200). The room rate sounds correct ($139). Try the # Disbug posted, and please let me know what you are informed. ALSO..."Limited View" is a Standard VIEW room, and NOT an upgrade. Call and ask about this asap.

*BELLE*~I HOPE you have already printed a couple of these from your SPG online account. I say a "couple" for a number of reasons. One of the biggest being, when you hand it to an associate at the Front desk, it could possibly DISAPPEAR (mysteriously) when she walks away from you and into the BACK area to "double check" on the matter. In fact, I would have three with me at the time I checked-in. You will have NO PROBLEM with the resort honoring this rate. Use a credit card for your reservations, and if the resort FAILS (for some reason) to honor that rate, you will be able to dispute the difference with your credit card company, (using the print-out as proof). Therefore, I am CONFIDENT you will not incur any problems with this matter. Just hand the print-out to the front desk associate upon check-in. Everything should go smoothly from there, as they will SEE the price reflected, and have the ability to "adjust" the other rate accordingly. ENJOY the extra $24 per day!! :sunny:

*To ALL PLAT. MEMBERS: Not much will change with respect to this level of membership in the coming New Year. The resort fee is always "waived" for platinum members, if not...please be sure to promptly ask it be removed. All platinum members are also entitled to Free CL privs, from ANY ROOM/SUITE in the resort. Gold members should likewise be able to "purchase" CL privs using points, and stay in their reserved rooms (balcony, etc), on other floors. I am aware of some NICE suites overlooking the Grotto pool of the Dolphin, with BALCONIES! Some of the ONLY suites in this resort with Balconies (other than the Prez suite, etc). Not many are aware they exist.

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

Yes, I sure did make copies. I'm hoping they'll honor this rate. No one could figure out why I had it. (must have been a gift from Mickey::MickeyMo ) Wish me luck come May.:earsgirl:

Hope your all well in Cal. I have a DB who is just at this point dealing with the ash. Your all in our hearts.

DF99-please stay safe! I have a very close friend in Carlsbad, and she has been keeping me posted on the situation out there! I'll keep saying my prayers that you are ALL safe!

Folks, I've finally convinced my dear Mom that it is time to go back to WDW...and with us! She hasn't been since 1983! Imagine the changes she'll see! She posts as Blondie's Mom, I'll try to guide her to this thread to get her pumped up. She has Web TV, so it's slow going for her, but she'll get the general idea!

I've already sold her on the either the Dolphin or Swan (she used to be a tried and true Poly fan!)

Now we just have to set the date for sometime in 2004!

Woo hoo!!! :goodvibes

Dreamflight99 My thoughts and prayers are with you and your neighbors.

Zurgswife I've been thinking about you and your DS. I know that you have so much to deal with right now, but you have many people here who are sending good thoughts your way. How is your big guy doing? Keep us posted, and remember we're here to listen.

On topic: Does anyone else's kids love the grotto pool as much as mine do? When we stayed at WL, all they could talk about was how they missed the grotto pool. Now that we're planning our next stay at the Dolphin, they are so excited to get to go back to the grotto pool!

My boys favor the Grotto Pool over any other resort pool on property! They weren't too impressed with the WL pool, said it was too small, and that the lifeguards are "too strict!"

Blondie~ Are we trying to make your mom a true Sigma Delta (S/D) sorority sister? Have her definitely scoot on over to this thread...she'll convert from Poly fan to S/D fan in no time!

DF~ The news videos of the fires are horrific. I was at a meeting today and during our prayer time we said special intentions for all who live in the fire ravaged part of California and for the heroic firefighters. Stay safe, DF.

Kaycee~ not only are my DSs fans of the grotto pool...I am too! ::yes::
