disbug>> I think I might know what your problem is. I right clicked (view image) to see what would come up for the blank picture. It took me to a msn site where they wanted me to log in (of course, I have no password there!) Try to put your picture in a free area such as the one named previously or something like geocities. You need a "free" address for other people to be able to view your picture. I hope this makes sense. If not, email me and I will try to be more specific!

I am having Key West revisited moments viewing all of those beautiful photos! I am still planning this vacation, with knowledge that I am once again being pink slipped in three weeks, yet I am also half planning two vacations in advance, not knowing whether or not I'll even have a job!

Jason>> glad to hear that you're doing much better!

I just love reading this board. Keep up the wonderful posts!

Debbie

Hi Jason, glad to hear that your Dr. bills are not soo bad and you can stay at the S/D... as for the AP .. You purchase at the Disney store and its not activated till you got to the park that first day..then the 365 days start. some people have said you need to have it activated before check in and some times not.. best to check with the hotel before you arrives so you incase you need to take a trip to the park before checking in you will be ready ...

To change size of picture:

1. Change the physical size in height and width. This should be done with a
software program that can resize the image file for you. I use Paint Shop
Pro but the same thing can be done in MS Paint. Doing it with the width=xxx
or height=xxx attributes in the <img html code will reduce the size at which
it will show up on the page but not the byte size.

2. Change the file type. Some file formats are more efficient than others.
Bitmap (.bmp files) are often quite large as there is no compression. JPEG
and GIF (.jpg and .gif files) are compressed and therefor reduce the byte
count. Usually GIF is smaller than JPEG but not always. It is possible with
this type of compression to also reduce the quality of the picture. The same
programs will usually allow you to save a picture in a different format.

3. Reduce the number of colors in the image. Some file formats already limit
the number of colors in an image. Saving as a GIF for example will reduce
the number of colors in the image to 256. JPEG will allow up to 16.7 Million
colors but you can set the number of colors you want. Many clipart images
can actually get by with 16 colors and not have any degrading of the image.
Again the number of colors can be changed with the image programs.

I believe that I read some place or maybe someone told me, but I can't remember what I was told about club level and if turndown service is part of staying in a club level room or not. I think I was told yes, but would like some feedback on this.

Thanks,

We had turndown service in a resort view room, so I would imagine that it is available at all levels of service at the Swan. I would imagine that Club Level gets it automatically, or if it is a large issue you can call.

Our recent cruise photos are posted. There are 4 pages, click on the cruise ship at the bottom to move to the next page, click on any photo to make it larger:

And, I have given up on the tag fairy. Thanks anyway:D

I'll take that reasonable rate...and meet you in Mallory Square to toast the Sunsets! (LOL). The Sheraton offers the BEST of BOTH WORLDS! I checked it out in the scoot car while in Key West last summer. Smathers Beach is a little slice of heaven.

P.S. LOVE the instructions for posting pics (for disbug). Like ROCKET SCIENCE...that's what this stuff curtails!

luckytso...You're welcome. ;) The Concierge are the True "Pros", and make tipping so easy and enjoyable. They are always gracious and appreciative. Never pretentious or uppity. This makes the entire exchange very comfortable/smooth. :)

#1hockeymom...Sorry to read about the "pink slip" forthcoming. Maintain your wonderful perspective. I'll be pulling for you, and hoping the slip doesn't make it into your hands. :) Planning a vacation (or two) is the BEST WAY to lift your spirits. I'm glad the Key West photos have brought you some good memories. Take care. ;)

pbhunt...The pics of your cruise are wonderful! The suite seems comfy & roomy, with everyone appearing to have a FAB time.
Please, don't give up on the TAG FAIRY. Sometimes...you must FIRST BELIEVE to SEE (the magic/message). I'm sure it will happen. KEEP THE FAITH. :)

ozzie ~ LOL you are indeed adding another monster to your lair! Your last post reminded me of when I was in jr. high in dreaded Algebra class and it looked like I was reading a foreign language. LOL ;) Let's hope disbug is able to post. I like seeing pictures of the World.

DF ~ the Key West scenes look mahhhhhhhvelous - particularly this am which is quite gloomy and rainy. Ah, the "sun WILL come out tomorrow. And besides - I'm going to Disney World and the Swan! :bounce: :bounce:

hockeymom~ I, too, am pulling for you and hope the pink slip doesn't come your way. Planning vacations, IMHO, is one of life's pleasures. Plan away...:)

Thanks OzzieW. and #1 Hockey Mom~~ I am trying your tips now. I am using the jpeg format and uploading to imagestation. (I had been using MSN, you are right Hockey Mom and I had to make a password!) Although, I had to have a password with imagestation, too...

Mouseteacher~~ since you are up early, can you see my photo?

I will probably need to get the photo software Ozzie was suggesting. Can anyone reccommend one that doesn't require a Masters Degree in Computer Science to understand? LOL!

Here goes, fingers crossed, thinking happy thoughts...

On another note We both have gold status but always seem to be put on the lower floors even when using points to upgrade to club level status. Are we doing something wrong or should we be insisting on floor 12 and up. Help not sure how to approach.

disbug....YEA!!! I see your great pic! Yes, I forgot to tell you that you needed a password for imagestation, but at least it's free and so easy to use. My pc has microsoft picture editor and I can easily adjust pictures there after I upload them from my camera, then save them in My Pictures. You probably don't need any additional software unless you want to go 'high tech'! Believe me, that's not me.....just enjoy doing it and seeing all the great pics here. (They call me Dr. Frankenstien because every time I help someone post pictures, we see lots of them!....but we love it!)

DF.....thanks for the info....I would really like to stay SPG if I can, like you and it helps having info from someone that's been there! Your advice is always right on target.

mouseteacher.........HA! I am right there with you in algebra class! Ugh!

bobump........I think you should request a higher floor and mouseteacher can let you in on how she did it! I bet she does it again this July!

LOVE PICS>>>

Job well done, disbug! Welcome to the world of posting pictures and images!

Debbie

PS We finally have sunshine this morning! Hope everyone out east has the same!

Bobump, I read on www.flyertalk.com that Starwoods cash and points will be extended but no official word yet. Try calling Starwoods 800 number and asking. Hope this helps and welcome to the boards! I'm sure you will find this thread helpful and informative!

Disbug, It worked! I see your picture of the two adorable girls! Thanks for posting! We love pictures!

Mouseteacher, Isn't this rain the pits! We have been waiting over here in CT to have our DD 13th birthday party by the pool and the weather isn't cooperating. We keep saying next weekend..... DH and I may just take them all out to eat and a movie. Last Sunday we were in Boston visiting our DS's new apartment and of course it rained. We did have a good time though and ate at Vinny T's!

DF, It won't be long! You and your family can begin some serious play in FL:cool: ! I love reading about everyones plans and have to agree the Key's look inviting right about now!

I have a CL reservation, and on the confirmation I received it said "turndown service". I didn't request it, so I assume it is automatic.

disbug ~ I was up early but left for the grocery store. Ozzie and hockeymom beat me to it! Yes, I, too, can see the beautiful carousel and 2 disney darlings! :)

Muffy ~ Boston is in the thralls of a Nor'easter!

Bobump ~ Welcome  I would e mail the S/D requesting (humbly) a comp upgrade to a room on a higher floor. Please let them know what a good customer you are - 50,000 points is nothing to sneeze at - and that you are Gold Preferred. I believe that requests are granted depending on room availability and how busy the resort may be. Last summer, we got a terrific upgrade to Cl -12th floor but we were there the last week of August - a much slower time. I am not holding out much hope for our trip in late July but I will ask any way. I am just happy we are going! It is an unexpected trip due to cash and points promotion. :) :)

Hi all -
We had ds 3rd b-day party yesterday and I am so exhausted!!!! Between the planning, shopping, cleaning and hosting - I have not had much time to DIS. My poor dh had a root infection in a tooth that spread into his jaw and spent the last 3 days (and nights) in misery. Lucky for him the pressure finally released about 2 hours before the party and so he ended up doing fairly well. Thank goodness since I was counting on is BBQ skills to feed everyone!

disbug- that is a great shot! Too cute- I have given up on trying to post pics - I am lucky to have 5 minutes just to read and post! LOL!

DF - the countdown IS on!

I can't wait until our Dolphin stay this summer - now that I am done worrying about that party I can really start to plan and pack! I have to get my countdown timer working...

Happy sunny Sunday to all! :) :)

ww52,

I found the information that I had seen and it was Concierge comments by someone who had stayed in a club level room and he did mention that turn down service was provided with the club level room.

Thanks,

ozziewags -
Thanks. Looks like we'll be very happy with the view in both directions. Not that we'll be in the room at the time, bit I'm guessing we could see some of Fantasmic's fireworks from this view also.

I'm happy we picked the Swan. We've stayed at GF three times and BC twice, but we need two rooms this time and there's no way we could justify that expense at GF or BC.

Thanks again.
