I ran across the disboards awhile ago and I'm addicted! Planning a Bday trip for my sons 5th. It's not untill 2010, but I like to plan ahead. Any suggestions on how to make his day extra special? I have read about the freebies, but is there anything else in the parks or character meals that one may not know about? I would love to hear any ideas out there...

:welcome: to the DIS!

1. You can get him a free birthday pin at guest relations.
2. If you tell your resort at the front desk that it's his birthday and what his
favorite character is, they can put balloons and a card signed by his favorite
character in your room. This is free.
3. You can tell them when you make your dining ADR's that it is his birthday. They do
different things (you can't expect any or all-but just be surprised) - free dessert,
celebration stuff on the table -little mickey heads, etc. , birthday card, placemats,
cupcakes - like I said - it vary's by restaurant and isn't always the same.
4. Order and pay for a cake to be delivered (look at the cake thread in the restaurant
board.

Oh - just re-read. I think Chef Mickey's would be a great meal for a birthday surprise. I think that is where they get the placemat, but I'm not 100% sure they do this anymore. I think they also get a cupcake.
