NEW Disney Visa Vacation Package Deal

to add to that...I know it's at least gotten their attention. Disney has written statements after lots of people have called.

I originally applied online for my Disney Visa and it was about a month before my care arived. They may have improved that turnaround now. The card was just coming out when I first signed on.

I was told anywhere from a week to 2 weeks. But, you can call their # and check on the app over the phone and I think once you have that, you'd be okay. I don't know that for sure though. And, a big warning, I still don't know if everyone that applies gets the deal.

ok just emailed my complaints to Bank One. I feel a little better. Time to let Disney know how I feel.

Thanks for the info. I just called asking for the visa dreammaker
package and the cm said that there was something in the computer about it but that all of the info was not in there yet.
Maybe on monday!!!!!!!

This has really upset me and I no longer feel good about using my Disney Visa. Why should I? I've been passing up good deals with other credit card companies because I believed in Disney. They have let me down royally. I had some seriously expensive vacation plans in mind for this summer, but I can easily drop them and make other plans. I am already booked at Universal at the Portofino Bay Hotel, so I will still go to Orlando. You know, Universal has offered me a credit card, along with many other companies. Since loyalty has thus far not been recognized nor respected, maybe it's time to move on??

I'm still amazed how worked up some people are getting. I have seen no offical word on this deal. Who knows for sure that this deal is for select few, new card holders, any card holders or everyone? There is so much misinformation out there I can't keep it straigt. What if they anounce on Monday that the deal is for ant card holder? Are you still cancelling your cards? I say just relax everyone.

I've had time to regroup and relax. But the problem is just the principal of the situation. It is not good business.

If they open it to everyone, I guess I'll keep my card for the time being. But I am now going to look into other options.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents.......
Although I already have my plans in place for this year (Univeral 5 days, Disney 3), I am very upset that they might exclude current Disney cardholders from this offer. I've managed to rack up $225 in rewards this past year alone, whick translates into using the card ALOT!!!! I plan on e-mailing Bank One and voicing my concerns. I'll watch this closely. My acct is paid in full at this point and I will have no problem cancelling out if this is not opened to everyone with the card!!!!!

I am also upset over this deal and it being for only new Bank One customers. I called Bank One last night and the woman said if you have a card now, there is no way to get the deal...even if you've had your card just a short time.

My profession is advertising and marketing..and this is a great marketing tool for new customers....but they are making a huge mistake by alienating their existing client base.

I am e-mailing Bank one and WDW today. If enough people complain, they may open it to everyone...esp with the press WDW has been getting lately ....CM killed, Roy Disney, Eisner, CBS' Bad Food Ratings report, Pixar separation, Comcast takeover, etc.

Remember how it was this past summer when they decided that certain people would be allowed to get PS 90 days out and general public would stay at 60...that lasted about a week because general public realized they'd never get CRT and other prime restaurants and complained loudly.

JMHO,

Atotty and every one else who is an outraged Disney Visa member,

Go over to the resort board and add your name to the thread about emailing bank one and disney.

I received my Disney card in the mail last week.

I called the CM and gave the code listed in the resorts thread. She asked for the last 4 digits of my Disney Visa card and put me on hold to verify with Bank One.

She came back and told me that I was "qualified" to receive the package, as I was a new cardholder.

The package is called the Disney Visa Cardholder Silver Dream Maker.

While you get 7 hotel nights for the price of 4, you are also getting (And paying for) the UPHs for each person as well as the silver plan 2 wishes per person per day.

After deducting the costs UPHs and the silver plan add ons, I got the contemporary tower for 243/night tax included. the rack rate is usually 370/night.

So, it is a good hotel deal, if you are comfortable with all of the extras.

I am obviously holding on to this reservation, but will be looking to see if AP rates are also offered, so I can ditch the silver plan stuff.

I wish all the best of luck and I totally agree with the long term Visa card holder's anger at the situation.

i called the 800# on sun eve @ 10pm and got a nice CM and asked about booking a vacation for 8days for myself, husband and 1 yr old son. she asked when & where, i told her the wilderness lodge & sept dates. she came back with a "dreammaker package" quote of 2313.70 i asked her if this was the new bank one visa card holder deal & she then typed in info for this (without asking me for a code or anything) and the NEW price was for 1528.50. she DID ask me if i had a disney visa, which i do & i then booked it. she did not ask me if i was a new member (i got it in dec) or for a code. she was just really pleasant & was asking me if i enjoyed disney, told me her favorite resort was the WL, etc etc.... this was my 1st try at 10pm to get the deal, and earlier on sun morn i called & got someone who would not do anything without a code........so i guess if everyone just TRYS until they get someone who will do something without the code, then it may work.
my plan if she was going to ask for a code was to say that i just got my card, (even though i got it in dec) saw the insert inside the envelope, but saw no mention of the code, that i saw it was just for the cardholders.......so i tossed the info and called anyway....and if that didnt work, then i'd try calling again & again till i got someone who would do it. lucky for me i got it on the 1st try..... it never hurts to keep on trying! good luck all of you! i saved $800!

Be careful. My travel agent says that Disney has said that they are going to check all booked VISA Disney packages against the Bank One data base and if you are not on the list for receiving the original offer from Bank One, they will kick out the special rate on your ressie and it will revert back to rack rates.

If it was me, I'd check back in a week or two and make sure I still had the great deal if you didn't actually get the original offer from Bank One.

JMHO...just trying to keep someone from getting hurt by having to pay more at check in than expected.

For those of you who are still hoping, here's a link to a thread on the Resorts Board. Summer Dream Maker Package

It has a link to another message board (not a DIS board) but the basic jist of the thread is that there will be a 4+3 deal coming out March 11 for travel between 4/18 - 7/4 (dates are tenative). Those dates won't do me any good but maybe it can help someone else.

As far as I can tell, it's not a VISA package or any kind.

Seems to me Disney and Bank One would be asking for even more trouble than they now have by denying current reservations. If these reservations were made in error, it is an internal error. The Bank One database should have been established prior to the deal being offered. In addition, Disney should make sure that all CMs know the correct booking procedures before putting something into their system. Has Disney set a precedent for changing reservations after the fact ?

I just wanted to point out that the post on the other board says nothing about the Summer Dream Maker being a 7 for 4, it just says it will be a discounted rate. It is still some type of deal though, so I'll take it!!!

I agree with you. It should be a Disney/Bank One problem. And I sure hope no one's ressies get changed.

However, there has been a precedent for changing ressies. Someone posts a postcard code or other non-transferable code to a list Many people use the code and get confirmations. Then when they go to check in they are asked to produce the postcard or other info that shows they are eligible for the code, cannot and are charged rack rates.

That's the reason most boards, including this one, are very careful about codes being posted.

Well I still CANNOT get clarification on if ANY new cardholder can use this package! I got 2 different answers from Bank One, and Disney keeps referring me to them! This is ridiculous. Fine, if current cardholders are not eligible, that at least is clear. But I think only allowing certain new cardholders to use this is outrageous. I also wish Bank Onewould get their stories straight!

They have before, especially when the person placing the reservation does so using a discount they know they are not entitled to.

If you use a code that you get from someone else, be very sure that it's a code for the general public.

If these reservations were made in error, it is an internal error

It's not an internal error if a guest uses a code that they were not meant to use and that WDW or Bankone did not provide them. That's the same as saying if they book a guest at the AP rate and the guest doesn't have an AP, they should get the discount anyway. Guests shouldn't try and use discounts they know they don't qualify for. If they do, WDW has every right to cancel the transaction.

I'd be very wary of using this code or placing a reservation using this discount unless I had the discount offer in my hand. It's an awfully big risk to take.
