New Disney Visa "Inspire" card

Applied and approved. The the credit limit we were given in even less than half of the limit we have on our Premier card. So that's kind of a bummer. We don't necessarily need a high limit but I still would prefer it. We already got the gift card in an email. Now we just wait for the physical card to arrive.
You can transfer credit from your other chase cards so you have enough to make that $21K charge.

I'm not sure the new card is really worth it for me without the bonuses.

My Disney+/Hulu/ESPN subscription is included in my verizon plan, so I pay nothing. Until they drop that perk, but I just got a new phone without having to change the plan so I guess it will be around for a while.

I have been paying for all of my Disney expenses with gift cards, bought at about a 15-20% discount. SO I'm not sure the extra% on Disney purchases will make any difference.

I can save on the tickets, assuming I pay for the first $200 with the visa card and the rest with a gift card, but that still just basically covers the increased fee. And doesn't cover it if I switch back to the no fee version.

Is there anything I'm missing in my analysis? Is there spend that would qualify that I may not be able to cover with the Disney gift cards? Be curious to see if Swan/Dolphin/Reserve qualifies as Disney spend at 3%. They don't take gift cards.
Your analysis seems right for your situation.

Swan & Dolphin wouldn't count unless you booked them through Disney but then you wouldn't earn Marriott Points.
Swan & Dolphin does take Gift Cards just not Disney ones but we found on the GC thread that Target sells online ones so you can at least get 5% off that way.

Would I still be able to do that and then close the Premier card? I don't want to carry to Disney cards with an annual fee. So the plan is to move all my autopay stuff to the new card and once it's all said and done, close the premier.
You could just downgrade it to the free version incase they offer you in the future an upgrade offer.

Anyone know if they allow you to purchase a Disney Gift card in the parks and charge it to your room or do you need to use a credit card for DGCs purchased at the parks.
No you cannot charge gift cards to your room. Just like tickets, they require a credit card.

It will be split into 2 charges so I could still just use the Inspire card as long as I pay it right away after the first one goes though. But I will definitely look into moving the credit to it, if I can. Since it will be come our primary card.

We actually still have the free one from before. I never closed it. Oops.

Dumb question alert!

I see people mentioning charging to the room. What is the purpose of doing that in regards to this card?

Also...how does one charge to their room when in the parks? I've never done that.

If you charge to your room it will be a "folio" charge and therefore anything you charge will be "resort" and count towards the Spend $2k get $200 at annual renewal offer.

You just set up charging with the front desk or during online check in. Then use your magic band or key card as your payment method. You will set up a 4 digit pin that will be used for most purchases for protection.

Genius!!! That thought never even crossed my mind. We need to see if someone in the parks can charge just a small gift card to their room then if that works it should work for larger amounts as well.

I'll be down there next week for Moonlight Magic and if I remember I can try it or ask if it will work. Worth a shot at least to see if it works! :)
