It appears at this point that Disney is only submitting plans for a new park to the Chinese government for review, but there has been no deal to actually build the park.

I love how pissed off the Japanese are about this. And why would the Chinese/Shanghai government approve of an actual Disney park when they already have the bootleg version? Who would go to the real one when they have been indulging the faux one for years at a lesser cost? Disney needs to stop putting its eggs in so many baskets and get its s*** together in HK.

Ah, the Chinese. Eventually, if they want their yuan to be worth a penny and enter the world economy with legitmacy, they will stop ripping off Apple, MS, Disney and a hundred other Fortune 500 companies. And I thought them lying about the women's gymnastics team was shameful. This country honestly believes the rest of the world is as stupid as its own citizens. I'll admit they put on a good opening ceremonies, but that's where my admiration ends.

This isn't a response to the fake Disney park... They have had plans to build on the mainland for a long while... I was hearing about it before the Hong Kong one opened up. From the rumors I was hearing even back then, they were going to be aggressive in Asia..
