Call me crazy but I think the new Canadian Disney Stores are lame. Nothing compared to US Disney Stores. I used to love shopping there but now I can't even be bothered staying in the store. What do you guys think?

Don't forget they are now owned by the "Children's Place"

Nuff said!

The new Disney stores are being remodeled because the old ones were over 15 years old. They may not have all the decor they once had but by cutting out frivolous animatronics, "The Children's Place" can continue to keep costs low and offer much better sales to the guests. I think I'd much prefer the savings than "pretty" looking stores.
I agree that they are not as unique as they once were but more money in my pocket means more money towards going to the REAL disney.

I agree but the Store was the only place to See Disney and get your hands on some stuff here locally. Now you have to rent a 3 year old just to feel comfortable in the place now.

Yes I know that because the target group for the Children's place is 3 but WOW!!!

The one I was in was really messy. There was more on the floor than on the shelves.

I save my money for Downtown Disney.

I'm not too fond of them because their selection in adult clothes is near nil. On occasion you can find something but for the most part, the adult selection is gone. Sure, target market is kids but adults count too!!

At the STC store, even with great staff like Sasha (from DCL), most of the staff seems to be afraid of the customers. Stop and watch them, they have this terrified look on thier face. The old Disney standard of 2 years retail experience is obviously gone with the new operators.

I have been trying to put my finger on it myself. We used to love a trip to TO and Disney stores, but now I can walk right past them.

I attribute it to a couple things:
-the change in ownership resulting in loss of the magical feel
-cheapness of product
-aging of my kids
-lack of adult products
-and of course once you make a regular habit of going to Disney it's just not the same.

We went to Disney on Ice and stopped at the Disney Store in the Eaton's Centre before, I looked at my kids and said let's save our money for Disney. That's where the real magic is, can't wait! :cool1:

Hey all been awhile since i've been on but i thought i give u a heads up on adult stuff ...that yes we are getting some more Children's Place is just getting a feel on what the guests want..I know that they are bringing out some adult sweatshirts and no it's not a zip up jacket..it's a new change so they have to work out some stuff and test it to see if it's what the guests want ...always feel free to let the managers know what u want they do take feedback on what ..look at the infant stuff that is coming back after Disney told us that we won't be having infant clothing anymore..the new stuff is awesome..if there is enough people telling the managers the same stuff Children's place will likely listen more to the demand :earsgirl: Unfortunately they hired alot of new staff in the renovated stores so they have to learn how to talk to guests...a little time might bring it back and with the holiday rush over it's easier to talk and find out what u are looking for and want to come back to the Disney Store

I personally want real jacket (not sweaters), DH wants long sleeves shirts, nice ties, metal watch just like Disney Outlet Stores in Florida. Enough with the sub-par toys and t-shirt. If we want sub-par, we'll go to WalMart. :)
