So who just watched the Fan's Guide to WDW?
It was an old show, wonder what year that was filmed?Anyway, I still enjoyed it, made me reminisce about past trips and dream about future trips
Edit: Just googled it and it first aired in 2004. That's why there is Pleasure Island and no Toy Story Mania, ADR's were still called Priority Seating, it was possible to get a PS at the last minute (not much chance now) and you could book HDDR 2 years in advance.
Not impressed with it...Alicia, the Disney Parks series on TLC is actually the DVD set, so if you wanted to see them here is the link (it's a box set)

you may be able to get them from ebay too![]()
That's why I'm so glad I never bought it.thanks for the amazon link.
i pulled out my disney parks dvd today to watch it for the nostalgia... the first time i watched it, it made me feel like i needed to be part of the magic. the second time i viewed it (today) i noticed a lot of repeated footage and really outdated scenes. i also noticed it contained very little info and was mostly lots of (the same) pretty pictures interspersed with perky people saying things like 'dreams come true' and 'magical memories'.
i'm certainly not dissing disney... disney is great, and so are the parks. but the video i saw today seemed tired and worn and a little rough around the edges which was a little sad. makes me want to do my own disney video![]()
That's from 2004 I think someone said..I found the fans guide to disney very old...even the dining bookings are no longer done like that. We all do online or over the phone now! Must have been quite a while ago, although AKL was in it? Still good to see disney though....
Oh I'm glad you have the DVD setthanks for the amazon link.

It may be stamped 2010 but the amount of old file footage is ridiculous![]()
Oh I'm glad you have the DVD setI saw you that you were going to miss the shows on TLC, so just wanted to let you know that you don't have to miss them after all
Yes agree about the dated stuff and they do repeat things WAY too much! I found that a touch annoying actually but in saying that, I do love seeing the dvd's and remembering past trips and how some of the rides are created and how the Animal Kingdom park was built and created. My son loves watching too, actually it's on again now and my son heard it and has come down to watch it. (got to love cable, that repeats shows about a hundred times in a week)
Yes as Queenie said, it's from 2004. It is old isn't it! Many things on it are very outdated. You can still go to Guest Services at the park like that though and make an ADR, like you can at your hotel concierge, but thanks to free dining, it is almost impossible to get a last minute ADR at any restaurant
There is a lot of outdated footage. It's amazing how quickly it dates though, shows how much the Disney parks change. What really drove me crazy with the DVD's is you put on another DVD and half the info from the previous DVD is on that one tooBut still, I do like watching them from time to time. I also like seeing how things were built, how they were created. You will see as the series progresses (there is a lot of repeat info), but the Animal Kingdom episode goes into a lot of detail on how the park was created and built and it's really interesting (well I enjoyed it anyway). The Disney Cruise episode will go into detail about how the ships are built and put together which was interesting too. That Fan Guide, that was really outdated and those perky people, who is perky and OTT like that
