Disney has announced that they will allow shoppers to buy most everything sold in the parks from a new app. From anywhere in the US you can order from this app called 'Shop Disney Parks'. This app will let shoppers from home ship right to your house or if your in the parks it can ship to your hotel or the front of the park. This is really gonna help the "I wish I would of gotten that" problem I know I have when I get home from my vacation. What are your thoughts?

What are your thoughts?
My thoughts are that before I get this reply typed, lockedoutlogic will chime in that this has absolutely nothing to do with customer convenience and everything to do with a way for Disney to make more profits... LOL

This is incredibly convenient but yes, I would agree with "Locked", this was done for the profit. But as Someone who has hit every shop looking for something specific that I didnt REALLY need, I like it.

I'm going to like it as after spending 8 days in the World very recently, and having the size of shirt (Large) sold out at the Poly the entire time and no one could tell me when they might get new stock of anything above a Medium.

It seems like it could backfire. This will be my thinking " I can buy it online, why don't I wait a month after my vacation to see if I really want it"

Pretty excited about this. Not under the impression it's all about "improving the customer experience" but still pretty happy to have the option.

Meh, Universal is contemplating the very same thing. Besides, most people buy items and services from lots of different apps on their phones. This is nothing new. First internet sales, now app sales. Just progression from brick stores. And I agree with Locked, money grab no different than any other way to make it easy to buy, buy, buy.

I like to go with the "money, money, money" response as much as the next guy but I like this idea. We don't get to go as often as we used up and there have been numerous times we've seen something we wanted with no easy way to get it. There was always the option to call merchandising but that was a complete crap shoot so I'm all for this.

I actually think that is pretty useful. Especially when you have searched all over WDW and the internet for a particular souvenir

The best forms of customer service involve giving people what they want.

So if people want this (and I think they do) then it's both a money grab and customer service. There is a point at which saying, "it was done for profit" becomes redundant.

I do not see anywhere on this thread where it was called a moneygrab. Obviously, though that is exactly what souviniers are intended to be, always have been always will be. I just wish I could still get a new a different pocket watch everytime I went. If they still sold stuff like that I would be a lot more interested in this thing.

I think it takes the fun out seeing whats new and different. I never buy Disney Parks things on Disney store, its just not fun. I guess some will like it.
