New Disney Race

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but while I was at the Princess Expo this past weekend, Disney was saying that they were going to be announcing a new race via Run Disney on Facebook. I spoke with several people in the Run Disney booth and no one seemed to know when, where, or distance of the new race. I guess we'll need to keep our eyes peeled to Facebook.

When I was at the Disney booth at RNR San Diego last year, I was talking to the girl about more races for DL and she said they were thinking/trying to put together a Princess type race for DL like WDW. Maybe it's something like that?

I think they said it would be announced in April. They also kept saying it was something we would be interested in/excited for; so my guess is another women's race maybe in DisneyLand. I guess we just have to wait and see.

On another board, someone posted that the announcement would be in April. So, hopefully they are on time with that and it isn't on April Fool's Day! I wish that they gave clues...apparently they just said there would be a really big announcement.

I am really hoping that they have an official Disney triathlon series...not the ones that other companies have on their property but they aren't official Disney races. Disney has to be making quite a bit of money off of the races, so to add another option would probably be quite lucrative and triathlons are becoming quite popular.

I thought I heard them say something about a race announcement on Sunday morning, but it was so hard to hear what the announcers were saying from where I was. It's good to know I'm not hearing things!

Based on an interview I saw in Orlando in January ....

I believe it will be an international race at Paris, Hong Kong or Japan.

Definitely one to do, but not one for a streak.

I thought I heard Sunday as well and that it would be announced on the Run Disney facebook page, but I guess we will all see if it was Sunday, tomorrow.

You folks sure it was not Monday...... Sun and Mon kind of sounding the same? I do not think there is anyone with the intranet keys working on Sundays. could be wrong.
