New Disney Gift Card?

Does anyone know where you can purchase the new Disney gift card Deb was talking about in this week's All Ears weekly newsletter? I would love it if we could purchase them at our local Disney store.

You can purchase the new gift card online at www.disneygiftcard.com. I actually purchased one last night and I already received a shipment confirmation!

I went to get some disney dollars and they presented the card idea. I stuck with the dollars because they are cool but the card is something I have to think about. Apparantly, you can keep adding to them?

Yes, you can recharge them. I have been hoping and suggesting the gift card idea for years now. The thing I don't like about the Disney dollars is that the largest denomination they come in is $10 (except for the special $50 they came out with for Happiest Celebration on Earth). Those bills can fill up a wallet quickly! The card will fit easily into my wallet and I will know exactly how much I have left on it everytime we make a purchase. So happy that they finally made these to work at WDW!!!!!!

Are they going to get rid of the Dinsey Dollars?? I love them!! It makes ya feel a little more specail when you are paying with a Dollar that has Mickey Mouse on it!! Like its not real money and you are getting it for free!!! I love this feeling!! I change all my money to Disney Dollars! I love paying with it!

I was wondering when they were gonna come out with a gift card...I wonder if they will take Disney dollars as payment for one? I bought my kids the Disney dollars for our trip, not knowning about the gift cards. I would much rather have the gift cards for them since they are easier to carry. Of course they keep the dollars, I could limit how much they bring with them in one day too...but unfortunately that might back fire too...I might be lending them the money and then when we get back to the room they would pay me back with their Disney money...then I am stuck with the Disney money...lol!

Oh we....great decision on Disney on the gift card...a little later wouldn't you say?

You can purchase the new gift cards at the Disney Store in amounts from $5 to $1,500. You can use cash, Disney Dollars and credit cards to fill them and they are refillable. Disney Dollars are still being sold for those who want them.

Yes, you can purchase the gift card with disney dollars; this is a change as normally you can't purchase gift cards with other forms of "special" payment like other gift cards, disney dollars and merch. credit cards.

As for discontinuing the Disney Dollars as a previous poster mentioned... As of late there have been counterfeiting problems with Disney Dollars so it is possible but not probable at this time. No one has heard anything about them being discontinued but I imagine that the sales of Disney Dollars will go down once the card is well known.
