Gotcha are you saying like if you have a chase freedom that has 5% back for that quarter on wholesale clubs, etc?
Yes or anything that would combine to earn more than 5%.
A card earning 2.1% or more would be better than Target by 20 cents or more on the $500.
Besides the $50 card the $500 is the worst value.
Better to buy lower amounts and then combine them at
disneygiftcard.com
If $500 is the goal, I could buy 6 of 3 pack of $25 cards for a total of $431.88 which gives me $450 in DGC.
I could then buy the physical $50 card for $48.98 and that totals up to $480.86 for $500.
If I used a Chase Freedom Unlimited which earns 1.5% on everything I would receive $7.21 back. This makes the total for the card $473.65.
The Target $500 card when bought with a redcard is $475 which would be $1.35 more.
Target is by far the easiest place to save a straight 5% but you can usually get better deals by combine credit card rewards with savings elsewhere.
Sometimes though Target has their Target Circle offers where you buy xx transactions at $xx and receive target circle rewards for $xx and these can be worth it as the face value of the Disney Gift Card counts for the spend and not the actual amount you are paying with your red card.
