OK, been to US/IOA multiple times - HOWEVER - never with a child under age 6! (We had a little, umm, shall we say, "add-on" to the gopher crew 2 years ago...) So I'm facing the quandry of what to do with the Little Man whilst my 16,15,and 11 yr old (and of course the 45-yr old kid, aka their dad) do all those thrill rides. Last I recall - you had the "Barney Zone" in US, and the "Seuss Section" at IOA - is there anything else? And what do I do while they are riding Hulk for the umpteenth time? Or off on another Forbidden journey? I used to know all these things... back when my first 3 kids were young (and so was I!) Now - my brain is moosh. We will be staying on-site, so at least we won't be waiting TOO long for most rides, and plan to spend 3-4 days at parks. All help appreciated!

At IOA, take him to the Discovery Centre and the Jurassic Park Playground. You can also kill lots of time at Me Ship the Olive.

At USF, there is the Animal Actors Show and the entire Fievel/Curious George area.

I was super worried about taking my nieces, 4 and 6, and they LOVED Suessland, could have spent the entire two days there.

The highlight was getting the Grinch (during Thanksgiving week) to sign The Grinch Who Stole Christmas books we ran into the store to buy at the last second.

It was hysterical. He sat on the ground with them, acted all grumpy and then refused to give the books back.

What a great Christmas/vacation momento for them (and me, got one signed for me too : ) to keep forever, but you could do this with any of the Seuss books and the Cat and the Things.

And Congrats!!!

THanks, folks. I think, if nothing else, the US/IOA part of our summer vacation will allow me to take him back to the hotel for a nap guilt-free. At WDW, there's just so many parks, and so much of it geared for a wee one, scatttered here and there throughout... I suspect he will be worn out by the time we leave WDW and hit "the Dark Side", LOL. As an aside - my older kids are thrilled to have a reason to go into Curious George with their baby bro... they think that place totally rocks. :thumbsup2

The other thing I will be curious to see him with - do they still have the way-cool fountain that talks? I really hope it's up and going when we pass that park of the park. I can only imagine him looking around like, "WHo said dat?" And if it should elect to give him a little "squirt" or two - all the better. He absolutely loves anything with water! (And whoever does that fountain job has some seriously quick wit, too...again, something my older kids love watching as well!)

A hint about the Talking Fountain, throw a coin in there and try to take a family pic of the kids doing it.The kids will get wet and luagh at what the fountain says to them. It's soo funny to watch..:thumbsup2

Mystic Fountain is still there and still popular with the guests.

Oh yes, you must check it out! So glad to hear it's still there! it is one of those few things that my kids STILL talk about... The fountain had incredible aim, and sharp wit. He had been toying with a kid named Joey when we approached the first time, and asked my kids to come closer... closer... asked him if he knew "Joey". My son said no. Fountain said, "Oh, it's this kid right over here." And shot him with a nice single stream of water, to the delight of the kids. He tells jokes and asks people questions, just a very fun thing to watch. For the life of me, I spent the next 15 minutes trying to figure out who was running the thing, from where, and how. I always figure stuff like that will be short-lived, however, in this "litigious society" we're in. As a bus driver for Disney once told me - All it takes is for one patron to say, "Well I didn't think it was funny at all!" and raise a big stink - and there goes the fun. :sad2:
